NYC: BARB JUNGR: HARD RAIN AT 59E59
Barb Jungr: Hard Rain, the songs of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, will be performed at 59E59 THEATERS (59 East 59th Street, NYC - 212-279-4200) on Tuesday through Sunday, October 28th through November 9th. Showtimes vary so please check the website - . Ms Jungr will be accompanied on piano by Tracy Stark and on percussion by Mike Lunoe. Acclaimed singer Barb Jungr continues to bring the American Songbook into the 21st Century in this new show, breathing new life into the music of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, arguably the best folk/pop songwriters of their generation. The political and philosophical songs by these two music icons make up her hardest hitting set to date. With a song list that includes Masters of War, Hard Rain and Blowing in the Wind, Jungr's celebrated interpretations allow these songs to be heard in brand new ways. There is a $35 cover. NYC: SUSAN HODGDON RETURNS WITH "I COULD GO ON SINGING"
Susan Hodgdon returns to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) with 2 final performances of her show "I Could Go on Singing" - The Songs of Judy Garland on Saturday, November 8th at 4:00 pm & Thursday, January 15th at 7:00 pm. The show includes songs sung by Judy, including many of her lesser known songs as well as a few of her well know songs including anecdotes of Judy's life not commonly known to the public. This is Susan's 3rd solo cabaret show. She attended the 2008 Cabaret Symposium at Yale, and has taken acting courses at HB Studio and has always had a passion for singing. The Musical Director is Daryl Kojak and the show also includes many arrangements written by Bill Zeffiro. Tanya Moberly directs. Call for cover/minimum information.

NYC: SONYA PERKINS: CD RELEASE OF "DREAM A LITTLE DREAM"
Sonya Perkins will celebrate the release of her new CD "Dream A Little Dream" at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Saturday, November 8th at 4:00 pm. At this performance Sonya will be accompanied by Bob Albanese, piano, Grammy Award Winner, John Benitez, bass, Dwayne " cook" Broadnax, drums and Josh Evans, trumpet. Inspired by the jazz singers of the 50s: Anita O'Day, Chris Conner, Jeri Southern and Billie Holiday, Sonya set out to make singing jazz her career. She began musical training at age 16 but felt a calling to the helping professions, which led to an active career as a psychotherapist. But she returned to performing after the 9/11 disaster. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

Performing together again after a nine-month hiatus surrounding the birth of Jessica Layton's first child, the new mom musically rejoins Jerry Gretzinger and Benita Zahn in an evening of duets, group numbers, and dramatic solos sure to entertain and to move.
