PALM SPRINGS, CA: EMILY BERGL AT THE COPA

Emily Bergl, one of a few young actresses today who has managed to create a substantial career in film, television, and the theatre, will perform at THE COPA (244 East Amado Road, Palm Springs CA - 760-866-0021 - ) on Saturday, November 8th at 8:00 pm. Her work already includes diverse roles in comedy and drama, and characters from many different centuries. She has worked with award-winning directors on film and television including James Mangold, Antoine Fuqua, Steven Shainberg, and Jonathan Kaplan, and on stage with Doug Hughes, Daniel Sullivan, Michael Greif, Michael Mayer, and Mark Brokaw. This past year Emily returned to Broadway to star opposite Gabriel Byrne in Eugene O'Neill's "A Touch of the Poet." In the fall she can be seen in the Diane Arbus biopic "Fur," opposite Nicole Kidman. She will also appear as 'Annie' on the ABC series "Men in Trees," a comedy starring Anne Heche as a relationship expert who moves to Alaska. During the summer, Emily traveled to Alaska to research the show, which she is documenting on TVguide.com. Emily spends her free time volunteering for Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic. LOS ANGELES: LYN STANLEY CD RELEASE EVENT

The award-winning singer Lyn Stanley and an all-star jazz group (tenor-saxophonist Terry Harrington, pianist Mike Lang, bassist Mike Valerio and drummer Joe La Barbera) celebrate the release of her new recording Potions [from the 50s] at UPSTAIRS AT VITELLO'S (4349 Tujunga Avenue, Studio City, CA - 818-769-0905 - ) on Saturday, November 8th at 8:00 pm. The colorful show will be paying tribute to the jazz standards and pop songs of the great composers of the 1950s. In addition to the memorable performances, veteran songwriter and arranger Artie Butler will be making a special appearance, discussing the music of the era. There is a $30 cover plus a 2-drink minimum or dinner.

Candice J. Her new show "Dream" marks the sixth appearance at the Gardenia. Musical direction by Todd Schroeder, Tim Christensen on Bass and Special Guest Star, Ms. Jessica Unland will add to the fun. Ms. Hincks is a published author of Namastae, a Blessing on the Nile. As a new song writer, she has written the lyrics to Namastae (music by Bobbie Jo Curly), Like a Love Song (music by Todd Schroeder and Kevin Fisher) and co-wrote Get It, Got It, Good with Mark Winkler and music by Rich Eames soon to be released. ROCKWELL: TABLE & STAGE (1714 Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, CA - 323-669-1550) begins its new series, The Unauthorized Musical Parodies, with a spoof of the 1996 cult horror classic, SCREAM on Friday & Saturday, November 7th & 8that 8:00 pm. This hyperbolic retelling ups the ante from the camp of the original with live on-stage blood, beyond reverent narration, and the infamous killer mask donned by our very own Screamettes. Written and directed by prolific television writers, Michael Gans & Richard Register and Special guest appearances by Modern Family's Sarah Hyland as Sidney, SCREAM arrives at Rockwell just in time to terrify and delight Los Angeles for the Halloween season. There is a $20-$50 cover.

SAN FRANCISCO: LAURA BENANTI "IN CONSTANT SEARCH OF THE RIGHT KIND OF ATTENTION"

Tony Award Winner, Laura Benanti brings her acclaimed show 'In Constant Search of the Right Kind of Attention' to San Francisco and FEINSTEIN'S AT THE NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 866-663-1063) on Friday & Saturday, November 7th & 8th at 8:00 pm.
