NYC: DONNA HAYES WITH ORDINARY MIRACLES
Donna Hayes returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, November 7th at 7:00 pm with her newest show "Ordinary Miracles" directed by Gretchen Reinhagen with musical direction by Justin Stoney. Added to the mix for this show are Tom Hubbard on bass and Donna Kelly on drums. Donna shares her stories through songs ranging from brand new R&B, classic rock, show tunes, oldies to reggae - by artists and songwriters such as Carole King, John Legend, Stephanie Mills, Bob Marley, Coldplay, Tracy Chapman, Kander & Ebb, Phillip Phillips, and more. These are Donna's personal accounts, and the songs that remind her that the world around us is not so ordinary after all. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum. Barb Jungr: Hard Rain, the songs of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, will be performed at 59E59 THEATERS (59 East 59th Street, NYC - 212-279-4200) on Tuesday through Sunday, October 28th through November 9th. Showtimes vary so please check the website - . Ms Jungr will be accompanied on piano by Tracy Stark and on percussion by Mike Lunoe. Acclaimed singer Barb Jungr continues to bring the American Songbook into the 21st Century in this new show, breathing new life into the music of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, arguably the best folk/pop songwriters of their generation. The political and philosophical songs by these two music icons make up her hardest hitting set to date. With a song list that includes Masters of War, Hard Rain and Blowing in the Wind, Jungr's celebrated interpretations allow these songs to be heard in brand new ways. There is a $35 cover. BEACON, NY: JOANNA MOSCA EP RELEASE SHOW AT THE TOWNE CRIER
Country singer/songwriter Joanna Mosca will celebrate the release of her new EP at THE TOWNE CRIER CAFE(379 Main Street, Beacon, NY - 845-855-1300) on Friday, November 7th at 8:30 pm. She will be performing all of her latest songs along with some older favorites. She will be joined by Peter Calo on guitar. Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the non-profit organization Guiding Eyes for the Blind, which was created to provide trained guide and service dogs to visually impaired men and women, as well as families with children with autism.
