NYC: BARB JUNGR: HARD RAIN AT 59E59

Barb Jungr: Hard Rain, the songs of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, will be performed at 59E59 THEATERS (59 East 59th Street, NYC - 212-279-4200 - http://www.59e59.org/) on Tuesday through Sunday, October 28th through November 9th. Showtimes vary so please check the website - . Ms Jungr will be accompanied on piano by Tracy Stark and on percussion by Mike Lunoe. Acclaimed singer Barb Jungr continues to bring the American Songbook into the 21st Century in this new show, breathing new life into the music of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, arguably the best folk/pop songwriters of their generation. The political and philosophical songs by these two music icons make up her hardest hitting set to date. With a song list that includes Masters of War, Hard Rain and Blowing in the Wind, Jungr's celebrated interpretations allow these songs to be heard in brand new ways. There is a $35 cover. NYC: LUBA MASON PRESENTS MIXTURA AT THE MET 

Luba Mason brings her ground breaking new show 'MIXTURA' to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Thursday, November 6th at 7:00 pm. The show, featuring MD and arranger Felipe Fournier, takes it's audience on a genre-bending ride of different musical styles in one eventful evening. Broadway and recording artist Luba Mason is a classically trained singer, pianist and actor with the impressive Broadway pedigree, really knocks you out with not only her stunning vocal range but also her extraordinary versatility as a performer. Luba has released two critically•acclaimed albums, 'Krazy Love' with a Brazilian theme; and 'Collage', a beautiful marriage of Latin, pop, jazz and poetry. NYC: THE GREATEST SONGS YOU'VE NEVER HEARD FROM THREE FOR A SONG

The acclaimed DC based trio Three For A Song (Karin Paludan, soprano, Doug Bowles, tenor, and Alex Hassan, pianist) make their NYC debut on Thursday, November 6th at 9:30 pm at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440). The trio will be bringing newly discovered music from 1920s and 30s Tin Pan Alley and Broadway back to the Big Apple! Enjoy glorious melodies, witty repartee and have a toe-tapping good time hearing music by beloved Great American Songbook composers you won't hear anywhere else. In addition to performing 1920-40 songs newly discovered by pianist and song archivist Alex Hassan, they also draw from Alex's vast collection of over 40,000 pieces of show and film sheet music or "wall-of-tunes" for a segment of the show they call "Off the Wall". These tunes, and those I mention above from The Library of Congress, are songs that aren't being heard anywhere else. In fact, many of them are being performed for the first time anywhere. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: MEG MCWHORTER AT THE BEECHMAN

Celebrate this thing called life with Meg McWhorter at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Thursday, November 6th at 7:00 pm, as she takes you on her journey from the Deep South to New York City (and everywhere in between). Get ready to watch her story unfold, from a young age, as she battled to let go of certain southern values in order to discover what she truly wants out of life. Life's a garden ya'll, SO DIG IT. Directed by Kimberly Vaughn with Musical Direction by Joshua Stephen Kartes. There is a $15 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum. 

NYC: BEN RIMALOWER DEBUTS NEW PLAY "BAD WITH MONEY" 

Ben Rimalower debuts new play "Bad With Money" at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) running on Thursdays at 9:30 pm, September 4th through November 6th. Ben Rimalower's addiction to spending beyond his means has driven him to extreme lengths all his life. In BAD WITH MONEY he charts his sometimes hilarious, sometimes harrowing struggle to overcome his problem - or get rich trying. "Bad With Money" is written and performed by Ben Rimalower and directed by Aaron Mark. Rimalower's first solo show, the long-running hit Patti Issues, explored his obsession with Broadway diva Patti LuPone and his relationship with his troubled gay father. Bad with Money delves into even deeper personal territory with the story of his struggle with debt - a journey that takes him through drug addiction, prostitution, fraud and multiple betrayals. There is a $25-$50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: PATTI LUPONE - FAR AWAY PLACES PART TWO

Two-time Tony Award winner and 54 Below favorite Patti LuPone returns to 54 BELOW(254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Monday through Thursday, November 3rd through 6th; Saturday, November 8th; Monday through Saturday, November 10th through 15th, all shows at 7:00 pm; There is an additional show added on Saturday, November 15th at 9:30 pm. She will present 'Part Two of Far Away Places', the show which she premiered to critical acclaim when 54 Below opened in June 2012. In this continuation of the show (which will include a few encores from the landmark Part One) she further explores her wanderlust, performing songs by an eclectic group of songwriters including Irving Caesar, Billy Joel, David Yazbek, Johnny Mercer and Kris Kristofferson. There is an $85-$160 cover plus a $30 food/drink minimum. 

NYC: SIERRA BOGGESS - FINDING THE BALANCE

Broadway's Sierra Bogges returns to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) with her show 'Finding the Balance (The Journey Of The Middle Child)' on Thursday, November 6th at 9:30 pm. Broadway knows her as Ariel in The Little Mermaid, Christine Daae in The Phantom of the Opera and as aspiring opera star Sharon Graham in Master Class. London knows her for her Olivier Award-nominated performance in Love Never Dies and Fantine in Les Miserables. After the success of her solo show Awakening debuted at 54 Below last year, she now returns with a show exploring her life as the middle child, always trying to find balance in the "in between"! It is in that balancing act that we begin to ask the questions and look for growth! Through song, stories and her favorite quotes we will "Find the Balance" together! There is a $55-$65-$105 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: JOHN PIZZARELLI & JESSICA MOLASKEY AT THE CAFE

The acclaimed husband-wife jazz duo of John Pizzarelli & Jessica Molaskey return to THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-744-1600) for a 4-week run on Tuesday, October 28th through Saturday, November 22nd at 8:45 pm, with a late show on Saturdays at 10:45 pm. Their new show is called 'Grown Up Songs' and features songs by Stephen Sondheim, Johnny Mercer, Paul McCartney, Alan Jay Lerner, Adam Guettel, Billy Joel and more. They will be joined by a band including Kevin Kanner on drums, Martin Pizzarelli on double bass and Konrad Paszkudzki on piano. As always, John Pizzarelli will play guitar. There is a $55-$185 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
