LONDON: NATALIE DOUGLAS: HELLO DOLLY - THE MUSIC OF DOLLY PARTON
New York notable Natalie Douglas - a seven times MAC award winner, a Backstage Bistro Award Winner, a Nightlife Award Winner and the recipient of the 2014 Margaret Whiting Award - returns to THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) for the third time, Tuesday through Saturday, November 4th through 8th, with a brand new show, HELLO DOLLY - THE MUSIC OF DOLLY PARTON. Building upon her five-star sold-out run in February honouring Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Abbey Lincoln & Lena Horne, Natalie and her Musical Director Mark Hartman, of Broadway's Avenue Q & Sondheim on Sondheim, have created an exciting program of songs to honour the also memorably buxom & beloved singer, actor, songwriter & Broadway composer - including Coat of Many Colors, Single Women, Don't Think Twice and, of course, Jolene. Natalie joins the rest of the globe in admiring the talent, charm, humour, and heart this great lady has shared throughout her illustrious career and shares her songs and her stories to delightful effect. LONDON: LATE NIGHT JAZZ: JONATHAN GEE
Fresh from selling out Jazz at Lincoln Centre in New York, singer/ pianist Jonathan Gee brings his trio to THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888 - ) on Saturday, November 8th at 8:30 pm to perform his inimitable take on songs from Manhattan (Gershwin, Strayhorn) to London (Ray Noble, Ray Davies). He is joined by saxophonist Alex Garnett, and Lance Rose on double bass. Jonathan has worked with many of the country's leading jazz musicians, including Steve Williamson and Tim Whitehead, vocalists Christine Tobin and Cleveland Watkiss, and poet Lemn Sissay. From the USA he has appeared with Pharoah Sanders, David Murray, Benny Golson, Jean Toussaint, Art Farmer, Mark Murphy, James Spaulding and Ted Curson. He has performed around the world including in Azerbaijan, Israel, Cameroon, Singapore and China. Call for cover/minimum information.
LONDON: DOMINIC ALLDIS AT THE PHEASANTRY
Urbane singer-pianist Dominic Alldis returns to THE PHEASANTRY (152-154 King's Road, London SW3 4UT - 08456 027 017) on Friday & Saturday, November 7th & 8th at 8:30 pm. Be prepared for an exciting show featuring new arrangements of songs by Cole Porter, Jerome Kern and Rodgers & Hart, as well as a sprinkling of jazz standards and comedy classics. Dominic's regular trio will be joined by trumpet supremo Gabriel Garrick. Expect an evening of wit, sophistication and artistic refinement from four remarkable musicians.
