NYC: MARCUS GOLDHABER CD RELEASE EVENT

Acclaimed NYC jazz vocalist/songwriter Marcus Goldhaber will celebrate the release of his 4th album, 'A Lovely Way To Spend An Evening' (Fallen Apple Records/The Orchard), and his first album with major distribution at CUTTING ROOM (44 East 32nd Street, NYC - 212-691-1900) on Wednesday, October 8th at 9:30 pm. The powerful, 12-track collection reintroduces some of Marcus's favorite standards alongside five originals. Growing up in Buffalo, Goldhaber was introduced to the Great American Songbook by his mother, who casually played countless standards on the family's 1928 Ivers & Pond upright piano. Goldhaber harkened back to those cherished moments in assembling A LOVELY WAY TO SPEND AN EVENING, and carefully sequenced the tracks to create a sumptuous musical blend with special meaning. There is a $20 cover.

NYC: AMANDA MCBROOM AND GEORGE BALL AT 54 BELOW

Golden Globe winner, Amanda McBroom - the international nightclub and theater performer and composer of the hit song "The Rose," joins with her husband - multi-award winning musical theater lion George Ball - will present the New York debut of their show, 'Some Enchanted Evening - An Evening of Love Songs for Grownups', at  54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wednesday, October 8th at 7:00 pm and Tuesday, October 14th at 7:30 pm. The show takes a very, deep unflinching dive into love, marriage and commitment with humor and feeling through songs by such illustrious songwriters as Cole Porter, Jacques Brel, Kurt Weill, Stephen Sondheim, and of course, McBroom herself. The show recently played at Catalina Jazz in Los Angeles and at Crazy Coqs in London. The couple fell in love while performing in a production of Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris and then starred in the original off-Broadway production. They have appeared together in Sweeney Todd and other shows in New York, Los Angeles, regionally and internationally. Ball starred in the Broadway production of Brel. There is a $30-$55 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: SCOTT SIEGEL PRESENTS 54 BELOW SINGS SINATRA

Scott Siegel presents '54 Below Sings Sinatra' at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wednesday, October 8th at 9:30 pm. Frank Sinatra is the most beloved and admired singer of our lifetime. He sold 150 million records and won 11 Grammy Awards, but that hardly begins to tell his story. 54 Below will honor Francis Albert Sinatra with an extraordinary evening of his most famous hits from throughout his career. The concert will offer Sinatra's early songs like "All or Nothing at All" and "I'll Never Smile Again," mid-career hits like "In the Wee Small Hours" and "Come Fly With Me," and from there to the classic years with songs like "It Was a Very Good Year," "Strangers in the Night," and "That's Life." Fascinating and little-known Sinatra anecdotes will pepper the evening, but the show will ultimately be all about the music, highlighting his greatest hits. The stars who sing his songs will be among the best and the brightest New York has to offer. And most important, the songs will be performed in the style that made them famous by Sinatra in the first place. Simply put, this will be an unforgettable tribute to America's greatest star. There is a $35-$70 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
