CHICAGO: JANENE BERGEN & RYAN EIKMEIER: TREBLE IN A RED DRESS
Treble in a Red Dress will perform at DAVENPORT'S(1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830) on Sunday, October 5th at 8:00 pm. Treble in a Red Dress is a contemporary cabaret duo performing Broadway, pop, and classics of The Great American Songbook. Founded in 2012, the duo is soprano, Janene Bergen, and baritone/pianist, Ryan Eikmeier. Their song list is an unique musical blend where Classical meets Pop! Sondheim, Lady Gaga, Pink, Irving Berlin and more. Janene Bergen,soprano, is classically-trained, having performed as a soloist with several orchestras in Michigan, Indiana and Illinois. She earned a graduate degree in Vocal Music Performance from the Vienna Academy of Music in Vienna, Austria. In addition to her interest in classical music, Janene has always loved Broadway show tunes, Standards and pop music. Before discovering opera and "jumping over to the other side," Janene's idols growing up included Babs, Liza and Janis Siegel of the Manhattan Transfer. Singing cabaret music is a fun foray for Janene out of the world of opera and into the world of contemporary music. Ryan Eikmeier, baritone/pianist, has performed with the Northwestern University Chorus, Chicago Master Singers, Oak Park Handel Week Festival, Sing to Live Community Chorus, and the Evanston Symphony Festival Chorus. Ryan is a graduate of Creighton University where he earned his B.A. summa cum laude in piano performance. He earned his M.M. in music education at Northwestern University's Bienen Sc
