NYC: ERIC COMSTOCK AT CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA
Eric Comstock continues his residency at New York's newest music venue, CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA(178 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-995-0900) from 8:00 pm to midnight every Tuesday night. An acknowledged master of the American Songbook, Comstock has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and virtually every important nightclub in New York and across the country. He is one of only a handful of singer/pianists who can command a room merely by sitting at the piano, singing and telling stories. In addition to his extensive knowledge of repertoire, Comstock has a seemingly unending supply of anecdotes about the songs, the writers, and the stars who sang them. His unique combination of musicianship, history and charisma creates an experience that is as entertaining as it is musically savvy, and his audiences feel they've been to a terrific party where the music and the stories have been equally great. NYC: BARRET IS BACK ON RESTAURANT ROW
Chris Barrett returns to LA RIVISTA RISTORANTE (313 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-366-4603) on Monday, May 19th, where he will be at the piano Mondays through Wednesdays. There are two shows nightly, a dinner show at 8:00 and a supper show at 10:00 pm. Chris Barrett's performances are in the tradition of the great late-night boites of a fondly remembered era, when the likes of Hugh Shannon, Bobby Short, and Buddy Barnes manned the keyboard.
