LONDON: KATE DIMBLEBY AT CRAZY COQS

The acclaimed singer and storyteller Kate Dimbleby, accompanied by Naadia Sheriff on piano, will perform at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Tuesday through Thursday, June 24th through 26th at 8:00 pm. In this highly commended show, Dimbleby explores the extraordinary songbook and life story of cult favourite Dory Previn, the queen of 70's confessional songwriters, who died on Valentine's Day 2012, 40 years after the release of her most successful album Mythical Kings and Iguanas. Kate and Naadia roam freely across great songs from the heart, songs of emancipation and sweet revenge, and the life of a vastly under-appreciated songwriter with a relevant story for today. A national radio regular and with several albums to her credit, including the hit Songs of Dory Previn, Kate Dimbleby has been described by The Times as "one of the most versatile singers on the jazz/blues circuit". A natural born performer and drawn to music from a young age, she grew up in a family where performing was the norm. Her father is the broadcaster David Dimbleby and her mother is a trained classical singer. Her uncle on her mother's side played jazz piano, trumpet and blues harp, and inspired her with his collection of gramophone records. Call for cover/minimum information.

LONDON: OPEN MIC NIGHT RETURNS IN LONDON WITH HAROLD SANDITEN

Open Mic with host Harold Sanditen returns on Thursday, September 12th and every Thursday thereafter at London's THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888). This is a unique open mic in the West End, having an acoustic baby grand piano and a bass player. Michael Roulston and Jonty Fisher will be regular musicians - and both are versed at both jazz and more theatrical songs. Aimed at both the jazz and theatrical communities, The Crazy Coqs Open Mic Night welcomes all singers, composers and musicians, up & coming and established, who want to do a turn, performing new material or old favourites. For the audience, come and catch that proverbial 'rising star' (or possibly a famous West End name) in the intimate, "jewel-box" surroundings of The Crazy Coqs. Call for cover/minimum information.

LONDON: ZEETEAH AT THE PHEASANTRY

Zeeteah, one of the most exciting singers in London today, will perform atTHE PHEASANTRY (152-154 King's Road, London SW3 4UT - 08456 027 017) on Thursday, June 26th at 8:30 pm. She has sung with Tom Jones, Sting and Robbie Williams, and her incredible voice and mesmerizing presence set the stage on fire. Call for cover/minimum information.
