PITTSFIELD, MA: MR. FINN'S CABARET - BENNY RIDES AGAIN
Barrington Stage Company (BSC), under the leadership of Julianne Boyd Artistic Director and Tristan Wilson Managing Director, announces June performances at MR. FINN'S CABARET AT THE SYDELLE AND LEE BLATT PERFORMING ARTS CENTER (36 Linden Street, Pittsfield, MA - 413-236-8888). The show on Sunday & Monday, June 8th & 9th at 8:00 pm will be BENNY RIDES AGAIN: An evening of Benny Goodman's Swingin' Hits, featuring Paul Green. Green returns to Mr. Finn's Cabaret with an all-new show recreating the magic of Benny Goodman's vibrant jazz quartet of the 40s and 50s. Tickets are $35.
TORONTO: CABARET IN THE JAZZ CELLAR: GILLIAN MARGOT
Gillian Margot will perform in the 3rd Floor Jazz Cellar Cabaret of THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Sunday, June 8th at 7:00 pm. Margot is becoming internationally known for her exquisite voice and stunning presence. With an exceptional understanding of her instrument, her authentic sound and refreshing approach to music are causing audiences everywhere to stand up and take notice. A multi-award and grant winner, Margot has studied and worked with some of the finest talents in both jazz and classical musics. For this series, she will be joined by the incomparably gifted guitarist, Kevin Barrett. There is a $10 cover.
TORONTO: THE JAZZ BISTRO PRESENTS ORI DAGAN
Well-known in the Toronto jazz scene for his entertaining performances and rich bass-baritone range, Ori Dagan will perform at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Sunday, June 8th at7:00 pm. Ori was recently voted Best Male Vocalist in the NOW Magazine 2013 Readers' Poll, a prestigious honour that follows several others that have helped make him one of the busiest vocalists on the Toronto jazz club circuit. His debut album "S'Cat Got My Tongue" (2009) garnered critical acclaim, and his sophomore release "Less Than Three" earned a 2012 Toronto Independent Music Awards nomination in the Best Jazz category. Joined by Mark Camilleri on piano, one of his favourite musicians on the Toronto scene, Ori is very excited to be back on the Jazz Bistro stage! There is a $15 cover.
