NYC: FRENCHIE DAVIS PRESENTS THE FRENCH AND KAT SHOW
Broadway star, Frenchie Davis, along with her musical soulmate/non-sexual life partner, pianist and comedian Kathryn Lounsbery, proudly present THE FRENCH & KAT SHOW at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Saturday, February 8th at 7:00 pm; Sunday, February 9th at 4:00 pm; and Monday, February 10th at 7:00 pm. This Pop Cabaret is one part Bach, two parts Kander & Ebb, a dash of Britney, and a sprinkle of Clair Huxtable all served in a Blanche Devereaux martini glass - neat. French and Kat draw audiences to their voluptuous musical bosoms with legit, inventive, and soulful arrangements of songs spanning every decade. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

Micah Mccain takes to the stage of THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Saturday, February 8th at 7:00 pm with his new show: 'Broadway Credits' because sometimes, when you're starting out in New York, the only way to get Broadway credits on your resume, is to ACTUALLY do a show called Broadway Credits and then put THAT on your resume! "Broadway Credits!" is an evening of songs, stories, cocktails and Laura Benanti Side-Eyed exits Set To Music! There is a $15 cover cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: MARK MILANO: THE LYRICS LEFT BEHIND
Mark Milano will perform "The Lyrics Left Behind" at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Saturday, February 8th at 7:30 pm, Milano will present a cabaret show composed of "trunk songs", "dummy lyrics", and other unused lyrics. In the heyday of Tin Pan Alley songwriting and Broadway musicals, working songwriters would toss their unused songs into a trunk. They would pull one of these songs out when a musical was in need of one more number, changing it as needed for the new use. Milano will perform the original versions of many familiar songs. Few people know that Judy Garland's famous torch song "The Man That Got Away" was originally written as an upbeat love song 12 years before she sang it in "A Star Is Born," or that "Tomorrow" was actually used, with different lyrics, in a shirt commercial years before it was heard on Broadway in "Annie." And who knew that a straight-laced composer wrote X-rated lyrics to "You're The Top" that topped any double entendres Cole Porter ever wrote? Mark Milano has tracked down the original arrangements and lyrics of many familiar songs, offering a truly unique cabaret offering. Tickets benefit HealthGAP, an organization working to widen access to HIV/AIDS treatment. Call for cover/minimum information.
NYC: THE LOSERS LOUNGE TRIBUTE TO LOU REED AND THE VELVET UNDERGROUND
The Losers Lounge is back with at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555)! They are presenting a Tribute to Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground Thursday through Saturday, February 6th at 7:00 pm; 7th at 7:00 & 9:30 pm; and the 8th at 6:30 & 9:00 pm. They will entertain with all of the incredible songs, great performances, irreverent antics and special guests that you can only find at The Losers Lounge. Losers's Lounge was started by session keyboardist Joe Mcginty (Psychedelic Furs, The Ramones, Ryan Adams) and psycho-cabaret singer Nick Danger. Originally a piano singalong night at The Pink Pony Cafe on Ludlow Street in lower Manhattan, The Loser's debuted at The Fez Nightclub with A Tribute To Burt Bacharach. House band The Kustard Kings joined the show in june 1994 for The Mancini Tribute and have been the backup band ever since. In any given show, The Kings backup over 20 different singers culled from the always exploding NYC music scene. Since 1993, The Losers Lounge has performed nearly 300 shows honoring 50 different artists, from ABBA to THE ZOMBIES, sometimes with the honorees present: Lee Hazlewood, Paul Williams and Denny Doherty (of The Mamas & Papas) all enthusiastically attended their own tribute nights. Sometimes famous people stop by to sing (Nellie Mckay, the late Joey Ramone, Andy Richter, Parker Posey, Debby Harry, Fred Armisen, J Mascis and They Might Be Giants) but it's the talented group of regulars that consistently bring the house down. After 10 years of sold out shows at Fez, Losers Lounge now packs 'em in regularly at JOE'S PUB. There is a $25 cover.
