NYC: SUNDAY JAZZ BRUNCH WITH GABRIELLE STRAVELLI

Bistro Award winning vocalist, Gabrielle Stravelli, returns with her Sunday Jazz Brunch on August 11th at LE PESCADEUX (90 Thompson Street, NYC - 212-966-0021), a French restaurant in the heart of Soho. They will play three sets from 12:30 to 4:00 pm. She will be joined by Saul Rubin on guitar and Pat O'Leary on bass in this charming boite that offers a great, well-priced menu and cozy atmosphere. Award-winning vocalist Gabrielle Stravelli has garnered critical acclaim and a loyal following through her unique take on material from the new American songbook as well as classic standards by artists as varied as Pink Floyd and Duke Ellington, Dolly Parton and Johnny Mercer. A trained actor, Gabrielle has a soulful sensitivity for the story in the lyric. Gabrielle has performed on stages from Amsterdam to New York including Carnegie Hall, Iridium Jazz Club, Birdland, and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Reservations are strongly suggested. No cover, no minimum.

NYC: SUNDAY BRUNCH WITH DAVE PIETRO'S NYU BRAZILIAN ENSEMBLE

Dave Pietro's NYU Brazilian Ensemble performs for Sunday Brunch ar THE BLUE NOTE (131 West 3rd Street, NYC - 212-475-8592) on February 2nd starting at 11:30 am. A native of Southboro, Massachusetts, Dave Pietro has been on the New York music scene since 1987. His talents as a gifted saxophonist, composer, and educator have made him an in-demand musician who has performed at jazz clubs, jazz festivals, schools and concert halls in more than 30 countries throughout Asia, Australia, Europe, North and South America. Pietro received a bachelor's degree in music education from North Texas State University where he toured and recorded four albums with the school's One O'Clock Lab Band. He has a Master of Arts degree in jazz composition from New York University where he currently holds the position of Music Assistant Professor of Jazz Studies. Dave has given hundreds of workshops and concerts at schools around the country and is sponsored by Rico Reeds and the Conn-Selmer Instrument Company. There is a $29.50 cover.

TORONTO: YOUNG ARTIST BRUNCH SERIES: EMILY STEINWALL DUO

Saxophonist Emily Steinwall will perform at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) for the Sunday Brunch show on February 2nd at 12:30 pm as part of the clubs Young Artist Series. Steinwall was born in Toronto in 1995, and is currently in her first year at Humber College working towards a Bachelors degree in Music Performance. She is a graduate of Malvern Collegiate Institute, where she first tried the saxophone. During her last two years of high school, Emily participated in the Humber College Community School and Honour Combo Programs. She was also a member of the the JazzFM Youth Big Band and Musicfest Canada's National Honour Combo. Through these programs, Emily has had the privilege and opportunity of sharing the stage with many world-class musicians, including Rich Perry, Ben Monder, Lew Tabackin, Al Kay, Tom Scott, and has studied with many of Canada's greatest jazz musicians, including: Kirk Macdonald, Alex Dean, Seamus Blake, Mike Murley, Lorne Lofsky, Dave Neill, and Andy Ballantyne. Emily hopes to one day forge her career within the excellent Canadian jazz community. There is no cover charge.

LOS ANGELES: BROADWAY BRUNCH AT DON'T TELL MAMA

James Lent & James Mooney present The Broadway Brunch atDONT TELL MAMA LA (8279 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-380-7209 ) on Sundays December 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th with seatings at 11:30 am & 1:00 pm. The brunch features LA's Brightest singing Broadway's Best. There is no cover - 2 drink minimum or brunch.
