NYC Nightlife Legend Raven O will perform at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) for one night only on Friday, January 31st at 9:30 pm. Raven O will join Musical Director Ben Allison for his first show of the New Year "Raven O, Modern Standards". When Raven O hits the stage, the crowd can expect the trademark raw and powerful show the song stylist is known for. But this time there's a new twist. It's the first time in 35 years that Raven O is very clear what he wants to do with the rest of his life. His decision came about as a result of a life changing moment in Provincetown, MA last summer. Raven O says: "I was invited to see the legendary Marilyn Maye perform. She's in her 80's and she blew the house down. Right there I decided that's my path. That's the goal. To be in my 80's, with the energy of a 20 year old and have everyone walk out saying 'WTF that was amazing!' As soon as I got home from P-Town I booked a gig at Joe's Pub with my Musical Director Ben Allison. We packed the place and the new journey began." There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
