NYC: "THE REAL MAMA AND PAPAS SING FOR MIDTOWN WEST"
FEATURED CABARET BENEFIT EVENT

"The Real Mama And Papas Sing for Midtown West" at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Thursday, January 24th at 7:00 pm & Friday, January 25th at 5:30 pm. Parents of students, from New York City schools, public and private who are career musicians, actors and dancers provide an hour of raucous and amazing entertainment to raise money for Hell's Kitchen's own Midtown West, P.S. 212. Hosted by Carolyn Montgomery-Forant. Musical Direction by Jeff Cubeta. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: WEST SIDE 5 VOCAL GROUP AT THE MET

West Side 5, an award-winning vocal jazz ensemble based in New York City, will perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, January 24th at 7:00 pm. West Side 5 is known for its refined sound and sophisticated approach to jazz. Inspired by greats like Manhattan Transfer, New York Voices, and The Real Group, WS5 has crafted its own unique sound, characterized by highly original arrangements, complex harmonies, and outstanding musicianship. Group members include: Corrine Byrne, Soprano; Sara Wajnberg, Alto; John Shumway, Tenor; Eric Hughes, Baritone; and David McIntosh, Bass. The group formed in the summer of 2009, bringing together five old college friends on the west side of Manhattan. They immediately gained national attention, winning the Mid-Atlantic Harmony Sweepstakes while being voted Audience Favorite and winning Best Arrangement for "Pure Imagination". They went on to be featured artists at the SingStrong A Cappella Festival, and have performed alongside groups including Blue Jupiter, Streetcorner Symphony, and The Bobs, as well as for Mayor Michael Bloomberg at Gracie Mansion in New York. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: CYNTHIA FARRELL, FOR REAL ... 2.0

Cynthia brings her show "For Real ... 2.0" to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, January 24th at 9:30 pm. The show is musically directed by Fran Minarik and directed and co-written by James Horvath. Cynthia has been a recording artist and musical theater singer since the age of seven after being chosen for the final call back for the starring role in the movie Annie. She has lived in Manhattan since receiving her BFA at NYU and has made a career out of performing off-broadway and in Europe and Mexico City with such notables as Hal Prince's Director's Co., and James Hammerstein III. Cynthia has gone back and forth from theater to the music business to work with artists such as Stevie Nicks and the record producer Don Was (Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Dylan). She has built a strong career in commercial voiceovers in English and Spanish and is well known for her role of "Catalina", the Puerto Rican gangster in Grand Theft Auto 3 and San Andreas, for any gamers out there! Cynthia debuted her show "Cynthia Farrell, For Real" at the legendary Don't Tell Mama in July 2013. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: SPECIAL AGENT GALACTICA WITH PETER FIELDS

Special Agent Galactica will perform at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Friday, January 24th at 9:30 pm. Galactica enchants her audiences with an evening of songs from the golden age of Jazz, the bawdy blues of Burlesque, the classic standards of Hollywood, and a few gems from today while in between telling revealing anecdotes about how she became a spy, her life and missions as an agent, the challenges of a love life, and the famous people she's worked with during her time at "The Agency". There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: DISTORTED DIZNEE / BROADWAY / HOLLYWOOD

Dallas DuBois and her merry band of drag stars put a bawdy twist on some of your favorite pop culture icons in a series of cult hit pop culture revues whicj run on alternate Fridays at 10:00 pm at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909). The group presents the Magic Kindom themed DISTORTED DIZNEE, the Great White Way tribute DISTORTED BROADWAY and the new Silver Screen inspired DISTORTED HOLLYWOOD. This trio of Las Vegas-style drag extravaganzas feature drag stars Holly Dae, Bootsie LeFaris, Pixie Aventura, Brenda Dharling, Dallas DuBois and more. For the holidays, they will present DISTORTED KRISTMESS, all of your holiday favorites are run past a dirty funhouse mirror. There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum. Cabaret Cares presents 'There's No Place Like ...' at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Friday, January 24th at 7:00 pm. The benefit show will feature songs from: The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz, Wicked, and more ... An evening to benefit Cabaret Cares. Hosted by Briana Davis, with performances by Quinn M Bass, Romelda Teron Benjamin, Christina Cataldo, Suzanne Dressler, Filup Groft, Justun Hart, Beau Howard, Jason W McCollum, Travis Morin, Carly Ozard, Kwame Remy, and Nesha Ward. There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

NYC: SIDDARTHA THE MUSICAL

Fresh off of its smash-hit European tour, Siddhartha, The Musical makes its American premiere with three special concert performances at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Thursday, January 23rd at 7:00 pm; and Friday, January 24th at 7:00 & 9:30 pm. Inspired by Herman Hesse's timeless novel, the musical tells the story of Prince Siddhartha's spiritual quest for enlightenment with a sizzling, Italian and South Asian-influenced pop-rock score that features raw, sexy performances. This adaptation of one of the world's most iconic emotional journeys will delight fans of the novel, and audiences who appreciate the unique transformative power of musical theatre. Written and directed by Isabeau with music by Isabella Biffi and Fabio Codega, the show was originally developed in the Italian prison system. The special concert performances of Siddhartha, The Musical will be narrated in English and performed in Italian and is presented by Gloria Grace Alanis, Fabrizio Carbon and Broadway International Entertainment. There is a $40 cover charge, which includes a cocktail reception.
