The next BACA (Boston Association of Cabaret Artists) open mic will take place on Wednesday, February 22nd at 7:00 pm atFIRST PARISH CHURCH (35 Church Street, Watertown Square, MA). Doors open at 6:45. Accompanist will be Bonnie MacLeod. A mini-lecture at 7:00 pm by Casey Thomas will cover basic sound system setup and adjustment. Singers should prepare up to two songs with music charts in the correct key. There will be a raffle with prizes. $10 cover for BACA Members, $13 for non-members.

Israeli superstar David Broza celebrates the release of his new CD 'East Jerusalem / West Jerusalem' at THE REGATTABAR at the Charles Hotel (1 Bennett Street, Cambridge, MA - 617-395-77570 on Wednesday, January 22nd at 7:30 pm. He is joined by Uri Kleinman (bass), Shanir Blumenkranz (oud), Juval Lion (drums & percussion) and Jonathan Levy (Guitar) plus guest singer:Mira Awad . Broza has been considered one of the most dynamic and vibrant performers in the singer/songwriter world. His charismatic and energetic performances have brought to worldwide audiences, a fusion of the three different countries in which he was raised: Israel, Spain, and England, filling concert halls with his famous guitar playing, ranging from flamenco flavored rhythmic and percussion techniques, to whirlwind finger picking, to a signature rock and roll sound. Broza unites the three worlds by utilizing his ability to take on the troubadour tradition, up to now, featuring lyrics of the worlds' greatest poets. More than a singer/songwriter, David Broza is also well known for his commitment and dedication to several humanitarian causes, predominantly, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. There is a $38 cover.
