His distinct music reflects his reverence of jazz artists such as Lester Young, Lennie Tristano, Warne Marsh, and John Coltrane, as well as composers such as J.S. Bach, Igor Stravinsky, Arnold Schoenberg, Anton Webern, Olivier Messiaen, and Pierre Boulez. His exploration of serial/dodecaphonic and spectral/overtone language within improvisational contexts, puts him on the vanguard of 'up and coming' young artists.
