NYS: ECHOING BACK: THE SONGS OF JOHNNY MERCER IN FORT SALEM SPRING CABARET SERIES

Four Broadway performers in a new musical revue, Echoing Back: The Songs of Johnny Mercer, will perform on The MAINSTAGE AT FORT SALEM THEATER (11 East Broadway, Salem, NY - 518-854-9200) for one show only on Saturday, April 20th at 8:00 pm. One of the founding partners of Capital Records, Mercer's writing and singing career spanned over sixty years of changing musical styles, from "Come Rain or Come Shine" to "Moon River." Created and directed by Broadway performer Karin Baker, with arrangements by musical director David Hancock Turner, the cast's credits range from being in the original cast of The Music Man to the cast of Broadway's Footloose and John Waters' cult classic film, Hairspray. Booked for the week of the Fort's Songwriter Series is Beautiful Girls: Celebrating Sondheim's Women, on April 27th. The $25 admission includes a $5 credit toward coffee and dessert provided by Norene and Fred's of Salem; advance reservations are recommended.
