CELEBRATING MARCH IS CABARET MONTH
Bustier-clad, singing sensation Meow Meow will appear at THE CABARET AT THE COLUMBIA CLUB (121 Monument Circle, Indianapolis, IN - 317-275-1169) on Thursday & Friday, March 27th & 28th at 8:00 pm. Meow Meow has wowed audiences globally with her provocative brand of post-post-postmodern performance. With a voice described as "Diamanda Galas drowned in cherry liqueur," the vampy, comical, sexy and slightly deranged chanteuse has won numerous Australian Green Room Awards and the New York Franklin Furnace Performance Art award. Her solo program has been curated by David Bowie for his NY High Line Festival (alongside Laurie Anderson, Amy Winehouse, Arcade Fire and Ricky Gervais), and by Pina Bausch for her legendary dance-theatre festival 08 (alongside Baryshnikov, Sylvie Guillem, de Keersmaker and Paris Opera). Expect sequins and satire; witty wicked Weimar; 60's French pop; Brel, Brecht, Kitt, and more. There is a $35-$45-$55 cover plus a $12 food/drink minimum.
