NYC: JULIE HALSTON IN "CLASSICAL JULIE" AT BIRDLAND
CELEBRATING MARCH IS CABARET MONTH
The Broadway at Birdland concert series is thrilled to announce the return of Broadway actress/comedienne Julie Halston to the stage of BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) in "Classical Julie" on Mondays, March 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th at 7:00 pm. "Classical Julie" debuted this past July, and was such a smashing success that Birdland invited Ms. Halston back for a month-long run of Mondays. The show combines classic Halston rants with brand new material, including her inimitable take on Ibsen and other highly literate writers. Julie Halston is one of the theatre's busiest and most well-known actresses. She recently appeared in the Tony-Award winning Broadway musical, Anything Goes as the hilarious Evangeline Harcourt. Last season she received a Drama Desk Nomination for her acclaimed performance in Charles Busch's hit play The Divine Sister. Her resume includes Broadway musicals such as Gypsy, Hairspray, and The Boys from Syracuse as well as hit revivals such as On the Twentieth Century (co-starring Anne Heche and Alec Baldwin), The Women and The Butter and Egg Man. Miss Halston lives in New York with her husband, Ralph Howard, the anchorman for Howard Stern's "Howard 100 News Department." She is devoted to the non-profit organization, The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, which helped her husband enormously after his own diagnosis and successful lung transplant. There is a $25-$35 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.
