NYC: ELIANE ELIAS AT BIRDLAND - FINAL SHOW TONIGHT
Multi-GRAMMY Award nominee, Brazilian pianist/ singer/ composer/ arranger Eliane Elias will perform atBIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) Tuesday through Saturday, May 28th through June 1st with shows at 8:30 & 11:00 pm. Elaine is known for a distinctive musical style which blends Brazilian roots with a sensuous, alluring voice and impressive compositional and piano skills. After working with Brazilian singer/songwriter Toquinho at the age of seventeen, Elias moved to NYC in 1982 and landed a spot in the acclaimed group Steps Ahead. Since then she has enjoyed critical acclaim as an artist equally expressive in jazz, classical and Brazilian music (she's widely considered a foremost interpreter of the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim).
