Terese Genecco and her eight-piece "Little Big Band" teams up with special guest star Lea DeLaria to present two shows at the brand new CUTTING ROOM (44 East 32nd Street, NYC - 212-691-1900) on Tuesday, January 29th with performances at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Filled with some of the city's most respected jazz and Broadway players, Genecco's high octane octet makes a b-line from the swing era to the rat-packing 60s. Among Genecco's high-flying wingmen are Barry Levitt on piano, Sean Harkness on guitar, Tom Hubbard on bass, and Ray Marchica on drums. Terese Genecco is a four-time MAC Award winner, (for Show of the Year and Major Artist in 2012, Best Recording in 2008, and Best Female Vocalist in 2009) and has also received two Bistro Awards for her acclaimed tribute shows. Special Guest Star Lea DeLaria has distinguished herself in every form of entertainment that she touches; Jazz Musician, Broadway Diva, Actor, Writer, and Stand-Up Comic. The first openly gay comic to appear on national television in the United States, (Arsenio Hall, 1993) DeLaria has gone on to tour the world with her one-of-a-kind blend of cool jazz and in-your-face comedy while also giving award-winning and show-stopping performances on the Broadway stage, in major motion pictures, and on television. Her three jazz recordings on the Warner Bros. label have reached top ten positions on Billboard and jazz radio charts and receive continuous airplay in the US, Canada, and Europe. His show "This Thing Called Love," earned rave reviews at the legendary Cafe Caryle in New York and features the music of Cole Porter and Paul Simon. Using the words and music of Porter and Simon, Holmes will explore, examine and compare the two songwriter's views on the universal subject of love. The evening includes such songs as Porter's "Get Out of Town" juxtaposed with Simon's "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover," and Simon's contemporary classic "Slip Sliding Away" alongside the Porter standard "I Concentrate on You," among others. FEATURED CABARET BENEFIT EVENT

The Union City Performing Arts Center in conjunction with the Union City Philharmonic Orchestra will be presenting "Voices of Angels" a concert in loving memory of the victims of Newtown, CT on Saturday, January 26th at 7:00 pm at the UNION CITY PERFORMING ARTS CENTER (2500 Kennedy Boulevard, Union City, NJ). The concert will feature performances by the Union City Philharmonic Orchestra, Jahye Kim & Yedeun Park, directors; the Union City Opera Company, John Jay Hebert, director; members of the TapOle Dance Company, Megan Fernandez, director; the Poet Laureate of Union City, Mr. Ben "BrokenEnglish" Figueroa; and other special guests. There will also be an art exhibit by the Union City Artist Collective, Amado Mora, curator. Lucio Fernandez will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Artists of all disciplines have banded together in support of the Newtown community and to remember the little angels and their teachers who so tragically lost their lives on that unforgettable day. State Senator & Mayor Brian P. Stack and Board of Commissioners will be in attendance, and will address the audience. Everyone in attendance will have the opportunity to send a message of encouragement and well wishes, as well as sign a card that will be sent to the town of Newtown. Admission is free and everyone from the community is invited to attend.

The Union City Performing Arts Center in conjunction with the Union City Philharmonic Orchestra will be presenting "Voices of Angels" a concert in loving memory of the victims of Newtown, CT on Saturday, January 26th at 7:00 pm at theUNION CITY PERFORMING ARTS CENTER (2500 Kennedy Boulevard, Union City, NJ). The concert will feature performances by the Union City Philharmonic Orchestra, Jahye Kim & Yedeun Park, directors; the Union City Opera Company, John Jay Hebert, director; members of the TapOle Dance Company, Megan Fernandez, director; the Poet Laureate of Union City, Mr. Ben "BrokenEnglish" Figueroa; and other special guests. There will also be an art exhibit by the Union City Artist Collective, Amado Mora, curator. Lucio Fernandez will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Artists of all disciplines have banded together in support of the Newtown community and to remember the little angels and their teachers who so tragically lost their lives on that unforgettable day. State Senator & Mayor Brian P. Stack and Board of Commissioners will be in attendance, and will address the audience. Everyone in attendance will have the opportunity to send a message of encouragement and well wishes, as well as sign a card that will be sent to the town of Newtown. Admission is free and everyone from the community is invited to attend.

Her special new show, "Bridges" was inspired by the song by Brazilian composer Milton Nascimento. The show will feature songs such as "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off", "Chelsea Bridge", "How Do You Keep the Music Playing?", "No One Is Alone" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water." Her all-star trio will feature Ted Rosenthal at the piano, Martin Wind on bass and Tim Horner on drums. "Bridges" explores songs about how people connect and move beyond their differences, inhibitions and fears. Ann Hampton Callaway is one of the leading champions of the great American Songbook. Her gifts as a singer, pianist, composer, lyricist, arranger, actress, educator, TV host and producer have given her one of the most unique careers in music today. A journey through a time and place where music legends would become legendary is presented in Lauren Fox's "Canyon Folkies: Over the Hills & Under the Covers" at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM(34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440). She is joined by Jon Weber (Piano/Musical Director), Peter Calo (Guitar) and Ritt Henn (Bass). Performances are Tuesday, January 15th and Thursday, January 17th & 24th, all shows at 7:00 pm. From the mid-sixties to the early-seventies, something magical took place in Southern California and it all happened in a bucolic stretch of hills, just above the Sunset Strip, called Laurel Canyon. Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, The Byrds, The Mamas & The Papas, The Eagles, and Crosby, Stills & Nash, to name just a few, all lived, loved, created, and collaborated there. Lauren Fox tells the story of this epic time in American music history, and sings the songs that it inspired. Lauren Fox was born and raised in New York City. She has been featured in several films, including Pi, Noon Blue Apples, Revolution Summer, and We Need To Talk About Kevin, and on TV in New Amsterdam and Fringe. Her New York theater credits include: Hillbilly Women, and GO-SEE, ArcLight Theater, and Heathens, Theater For A New City. Lauren's last show, "Love, Lust, Fear & Freedom: The Songs Of Joni Mitchell & Leonard Cohen," ran last Spring with sold out shows, received critical acclaim, and will soon be available as a live CD. With a mix of comic irreverence, stark candor and show-biz bravado, Patti Issues poignantly explores the challenges facing LGBT parents and children while shining unique light on gay men's time-old obsessions with divas. When Ben Rimalower was eight years old, his father came out of the closet and embarked on a drug-fueled tear that left his family in tatters. Amid the chaos of his young life, Ben found comfort - like so many gay boys before him and after - in musical theater, and specifically in the transportive voice of Broadway star Patti LuPone. His show "This Thing Called Love," earned rave reviews at the legendary Cafe Caryle in New York and features the music of Cole Porter and Paul Simon. Using the words and music of Porter and Simon, Holmes will explore, examine and compare the two songwriter's views on the universal subject of love. The evening includes such songs as Porter's "Get Out of Town" juxtaposed with Simon's "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover," and Simon's contemporary classic "Slip Sliding Away" alongside the Porter standard "I Concentrate on You," among others. Emily Bergl is one of a rare breed of actresses today with a substantial career in film, television, and the theatre. Her work includes diverse roles in both comedy and drama, and characters from several different centuries. She made her film debut in The Rage: Carrie 2, followed by performances in Happy Campers, Chasing Sleep and Fur. After co-starring with Laurence Fishburne and Stockard Channing in the Broadway production of The Lion in Winter, she began appearing in numerous TV series, including ER, NYPD Blue, Medium, Grey's Anatomy and The Good Wife, plus two seasons as the malevolent Francie on Gilmore Girls, and as the tragic Beth Young on Desperate Housewives.
