NYC: KIM DAVID SMITH'S "MORPHIUM KABARETT" RETURNS TO PANGEA, FEBRUARY 2nd!

Kim David Smith's acclaimed MORPHIUM KABARETT returns in 2017 to PANGEA(178 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-995-0900) for four additional dates - Thursdays, February 2nd and 9th; and Wednesdays, February 15th and 22nd; all shows at 7:30 pm. After a sold-out 2016 season (and a fantastic jaunt to Provincetown at the Afterglow Festival), Morphium Kabarett will return to the gorgeously intimate Pangea. With added songs and lashings of whimsy, the 2017 edition of Morphium Kabarett further explores the glitter, doom, and decadence of Weimar-era Berlin, and the chaos of present day, in a midwinter's musical miasma. Named for the sensual, Spoliansky-penned waltz (famously danced to by a naked Anita Berber), Morphium Kabarett is musically directed by Tracy Stark, and features the music of Hollaender, Weill, and Spoliansky, mixed with Kylie Minogue, the Supremes, and myriad unexpected others, in a neo-Weimar cabaret fantasia. There is a $25 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

BREAKING NEWS! NYC: MARILYN MAYE OPENS IN 2017 WITH "BIGGEST PARTY EVER"

NEWS AND LISTINGS OF UPCOMING CABARET
EVENTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD!

NYC: MARILYN MAYE OPENS IN 2017 WITH "BIGGEST PARTY EVER"

Marilyn Maye delivers her annual one-two punch to ring in the new year at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) with two weeks of her incomparable "Marilyn by Request" party-shows from Friday, January 5th through Saturday, January 14th. It's "The Biggest Party EVER!" in back-to-back shows on New Year's Eve, when Maye holds court with her world-class trio consisting of pianist/ conductor Billy Stritch, bassist Tom Hubbard, and drummer Eric Halvorson. Then, the excitement continues when Maye and her trio settle in for a 7-night run of the hard-partying "Marilyn By Request" shows from January 5th through 14th. This will be Maye's 17th Metropolitan Room engagement since a historic one-night-only engagement that helped inaugurate the club in October 2006 ended a 15-year hiatus from performing in New York. Her first of many extended runs at the Met was in March 2007. Since then Maye has won every award and, best of all, electrified a whole new generation by introducing them to a free-wheeling American nightclub performance style. With showtimes at 7:30 pm and 10:00 pm on Wednesday December 31st, Marilyn hosts "The Biggest Party EVER!" Music charges are $59 per person for the early show, and $219 per person ($329 premium seating), open bar-inclusive, for the late show. The "By Request" shows have a hard-to-resist music charge of only $45 per person. "Marilyn by Request" plays Thursday through Saturday January 5th, 6th, & 7th, and Wednesday through Saturday January 11th through 14th. All shows are at 7:00 pm.
