On Saturday, March 26th, local Albany, NY news anchor Jerry Gretzinger (WRGB, CBS 6) will be channeling Frank Sinatra in performance when Fort Salem Theaterpresents "Jerry Gretziunger singing Mostly Frank" at WAMC'S LINDA NORRIS AUDITORIUM (339 Central Avenue, Albany, NY - 518-465-5233 ext 4). Gretzinger is no stranger to performing live in front of an audience. He's been acting in musicals and comedies since he was just five years old. He's also a member of The Singing Anchors, which combines his talents with those of Jessica Layton and Benita Zahn (anchors at rival WNYT, NewsChannel 13). The band is led by pianist Jay Kerr, owner and artistic director of Fort Salem Theater. Kerr, who has worked with the likes of Better Midler, Phil Silvers, and Joanne Woodward, created Mostly Frank with the news anchor and arranged the songs to pay appropriate tribute to Sinatra while catering to Gretzinger's style. Members of Albany's own Swing Docs Big Band round out the musicians, including Rich Uhl on saxophone, Mark Silverbush on drums, Jack Bastow on bass, Bill Alston on guitar, Jeff Trowbridge on trombone, and Mark Eiser on trumpet. Tickets are $23.

Producer Scott Siegel, in association with FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEW'S REGENCY, is attempting to stretch the boundaries of live entertainment in New York just a little bit further in to the night, specifically on Thursday nights at 11:00 pm atFEINSTEIN'S at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-339-4095), with a brand new musical revue called "11 O'CLOCK NUMBERS AT 11 O'CLOCK." The show will have preview performance on Thursday, February 24th. The show stars Broadway by the Year veterans Carole J. Bufford and Scott Coulter, plus Drama Desk Nominee and current star of NEWSICAL, The Musical, Christina Bianco. Performing 11 O'Clock numbers from across Broadway history from the 1920s to the present, the show is aglow with great music performed at the hour at which they were intended. Its official press opening will be on Thursday, March 10th (no show on the 3rd of March). There is a $15-$25 cover. A modestly priced, new, late night menu will be available.

CAFE SABARSKY AT NEUE GALERIE (1048 Fifth Avenue, NYC - 212-288-0665) continues its unique series devoted primarily to German and Austrian music of the 1890s to 1930s, some of the most vibrant and innovative music created in the modern era. On Thursday, March 24th, performer is Sarah Wolfson, with Ji-Young Li, piano. The program traces in song the cross-continental journey of composer Kurt Weill, from Berlin to Paris to New York to Hollywood, and includes the musical highlights both well-known and more obscure from each of these periods of Weill s life. Operated by Kurt Gutenbrunner, chef and owner of the renowned restaurant Wallse, Cabaret at Cafe Sabarsky offers a gourmet three-course prix-fixe dinner preceding every performance. All performances are at 9:00 pm, preceded by a prix-fixe dinner at 7:00 pm. Combined cost is $110 (dinner $65, performance $45; purchased together).

FEINSTEIN'S at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-339-4095) presents "I Want To Live!" - an evening with Nellie McKay, Tuesdays through Saturdays, March 22nd through April 2nd. Performances are Tuesday through Thursday at 8:30 pm and on Fridays & Saturdays at 8:00 & 10:30 pm. The early shows will offer her eclectic mix of standards and original material and the late shows on Fridays and Saturdays will exclusively feature McKay's own distinctive compositions. McKay, who performs on piano and ukulele as well as vocals, will be joined by a trio of musicians. McKay has been a creative dynamo since her audacious double-album debut Get Away From Me, releasing five critically acclaimed albums, including 2009's Normal As Blueberry Pie: A Tribute to Doris Day and her recent CD, Home Sweet Mobile Home. Marking their twenty-fifth year together, Quartet West celebrates their anniversary with the March 22nd release of their new album, "Sophisticated Ladies" (Decca/Emarcy). The new album features an all-star cast of female vocalists including Norah Jones, Cassandra Wilson, Diana Krall, Melody Gardot, Renee Fleming and Ruth Cameron, all of whom will be unadvertised guests during the week. Mr. Leone's show features the music of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Louie Prima, Mario Lanza, Perry Como and others. The evening's special guest will be vocalist Lynn DiMenna and will also include reminiscences of Leone's upbringing in the Italian-American hamlet of Weymouth, MA, where he got his start in show business at his father's social club, the Sons of Italy. The show features David Brunetti on piano, Frank Wagner on bass, John Redsecker on drums and direction by Bob Spiotto. Leone is an actor, singer, director, and teacher whose two decade career as a performer has taken him throughout the USA, to starring roles in film and on television, and to Broadway. THE TOWN HALL (123 West 43rd Street, NYC - 212-997-1929) continues it's critically acclaimed Broadway by the Year's 11th Season with "The Broadway Musicals of 1932" on Monday, March 21st at 8:00 pm. The year 1932 brought us famous shows by musical theater icons such as Kern and Hammerstein (Music in the Air), Irving Berlin, (Face the Music), Cole Porter (Gay Divorce) and Dietz and Schwarz (Flying Colors), among others. Produced by The Town Hall, The Broadway Musicals of 1932 is created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel. Siegel takes the audience on a musical travelogue, exploring the history of the Great White Way and providing social anecdotes while showcasing the beloved hits and lesser-known gems from the golden age of Broadway. The show is directed by Scott Coulter and choreographed by Jeffry Denman, who both perform in the show as well. Ross Patterson is the musical director. Ms. Alexander began her Broadway career at age 8, playing the role of Young Cossette in Les Miserables. She continued to land leading and supporting roles such as Mary Lennox in the Broadway National Tour of The Secret Garden and Cynthia Benson in the Broadway National Tour of Big. She is joined by special guest Kevin Odekirk (Les Miserables/ Broadway, Sondheim's 75th/ Hollywood Bowl, and Was/Lincoln Center). Mr. Odekirk has also appeared in concert with Bernadette Peters, Angela Lansbury, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Josh Groban and Julie Andrews. Dee Dee Magno-Hall also guests with Ms. Alexander. In the fall of 2009, Central Los Angeles High School (aka #9) opened its doors to a group of talented kids intent on pursuing their dreams at it's new VISUAL & PERFORMING ARTS HIGH SCHOOL. Now Seniors, they are about to complete the most rigorous education program in the entire city. As they prepare for their future, the only thing these kids lack is funding. So, on Sunday, March 20th at 2:00 pm at CENTRAL LOS ANGELES HIGH SCHOOL #9 (450 North Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA) they will perform in a benefit conference. All proceeds will benefit graduation activities for the real CLASS of 2011. The show will feature Brad Ellis, long regarded as one of the most respected and sought after composers, arrangers, and musical directors in the Broadway community, currently enjoying a newfound fame as the on-camera pianist on the hit television series Glee. Their concerts take on a life of their own, as inspired song cycles, and the alluring romantic interplay between the two is shared with a sneaky sense of humor sprinkled throughout. The show breathes new life into the American songbook in their trademark style, introducing musical passages and suites inspired by composers including Jerry Herman, Stephen Flaherty, Marvin Hamlisch, Frank Wildhorn, Andrew Lloyd Webber, as well as new works by Keith Thompson. Michael Kirk Lane, host of "The Show Tune Room" on weekends at DON'T TELL MAMA, will make his cabaret debut in "Songs from the Rock, the Street, and the Hood" at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Sunday, March 20th at 4:00 pm. Musical Direction is by William TN Hall with Direction by Steven Strafford. Michael will be joined by special guest Kristina Culotta. The show includes songs from "Fraggle Rock," "Sesame Street," and "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood." Offering both classic songs and rarely heard gems, Lane takes an adult look at these childhood hits. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum

The Boston-based singer Shepley Metcalf who, last year, was the first American to record and perform a new trove of songs by the lyricist Fran Landesman, is bringing back her critically acclaimed Landesman tribute to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) for an exclusive engagement in March. "Something Irresistible," featuring songs by Landesman and the British jazz composer Simon Wallace, performs Sunday March 20th at 4:00 pm. She is backed by her music director and arranger Ron Roy on piano, Chris Rathbun on bass and Gene Roma on drums. The show includes 15 new songs from the mercurial tunesmith who withdrew to London in the mid-60's represent a stunning expansion of her discography, which, in recent decades has had very few additions. Landesman is best known for her widely admired standards "Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most," and "The Ballad of the Sad Young Men." There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
