Broadway Concerts Direct presents the MUSIC SALON at CLASSIC QUICHE CAFE (330 Queen Anne Road, Teaneck, NJ - 201-692-0150) on Friday, November 28th at 7:30 pm. The show stars Sarah Rice and David Vernon, with special guests Rich Flanders and Anne Tarpey-Flanders and more. They will be accompanied by Matthew Martin Ward, Piano and Sarah Rice, Theremin. The evening will feature a cozy evening of good cheer, beautiful music and tasty food the day after Thanksgiving. Food you don't have to cook and songs to cheer you into the holiday season. Daryl Sherman returns to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Saturday, November 29th at 7:00 pm. For 14 years Ms. Sherman played and sang for savvy New Yorkers and international visitors at the Waldorf Astoria's famed Cole Porter Steinway. Last June, she headlined the annual Cole Porter Festival in his hometown of Peru, IN. Sherman has performed at The Algonquin's Oak Room, Feinstein's, Rose Hall with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Dizzy's Coca Cola and 59E59 Theaters where she was lauded for her band singer role in a centennial tribute to Artie Shaw. As a sparkling mainstay of Manhattan's nightlife, there's hardly jazz joint, supper club, Chinese restaurant or hotel that Daryl has missed. Her many recordings are in regular national rotation on Cable TV's Music Choice and Sirius/XM Radio. She was presented the 2010 MAC Award "Best Major Recording" for her Johnny Mercer Centennial CD - which was used in a Mercer documentary produced by Clint Eastwood. Texas Jazz Crooner Ken Slavin returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) for his third engagement on Thanksgiving weekend, Saturday, November 29th at 9:30 pm with his new show "I've Got a Crush on New York Town". Slavin, who's jazz star continues to rise coast to coast, thanks to cable TV's Music Choice, online music services such as Spotify, and generous commercial and internet radio airplay, made his New York City debut at the club last fall. He released a CD of the debut in December, did a second show in January and now will return just in time for the start of the Holiday Season. Accompanied by a classic jazz trio, Slavin will present an eclectic collection of great New York City-themed standards and jazz classics, including an expanded version of his popular New York medley from which the show takes its name. And in honor of the first weekend of the 2014 Holiday Season, he will toss in some jazzy versions of beloved Christmas classics. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

All shows at 7:00 pm. Sharing the stage will be her longtime Musical Director Ross Patterson. Rules of the Road (Part 3) is the latest emotionally empowering and highly-charged show from this influential and beloved cabaret artist who never disappoints. Her shows are filled with memorable anecdotes, through song, from life and a brilliant performing career. Her totally unforgettable song choices have helped make her the local legend she remains today. Singers Jane Monheit, Jim Caruso and singer/pianist/arranger Billy Stritch will join forces in "Hollywoodland: Songs From The Silver Screen" at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Sunday, November 23rd through Thursday, November 27th at 6:00 pm. Material will include beloved songs like "Pennies From Heaven," "Let's Misbehave," "Over The Rainbow," "If I Only Had A Brain," "Bye Bye Baby," and "It Happened In Sun Valley." The trio will be accompanied by Rick Montalbano on drums and Neal Miner on bass. Jane Monheit, Jim Caruso and Billy Stritch had such a great time working together in the Jazz at Lincoln Center concert series, and were thrilled when Birdland offered them a weeklong booking on the historic stage. The trio brings a wealth of musical experience to this show, and they love performing tightly harmonized swing arrangements and lush ballads from the 30's, 40's and 50's. Aimee has a culturally rich background - Dominican and French Gypsy - and conservatory training (SUNY Purchase) that help to form the rhythmic and expressive foundation by which a jury of legendary vocalists including Al Jarreau, Kurt Elling, Dianne Reeves and Dee Dee Bridgewater judged her to be a finalist in the prestigious Thelonious Monk Vocal Competition in 2010. At the young age of twenty-six, Cyrille has since become one of the hottest young artists on the New York scene. She has already released four CDs with a variety of ensembles and performed at the top venues around the world. START 2015 WITH AN EXCITING CABARET EVENT! 60 HOUR MARATHON CABARET VARIETY SHOW ATTEMPTS GUINNESS RECORD
CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE IS A PROUD CO-SPONSOR OF THIS EVENT

THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) will attempt to achieve a Guinness World Record by presenting a 3-day, 60 hour, marathon Variety Show running from Thursday, January 1st (New Year's Day) at 7:00 pm through Sunday, January 4th at 7:00 am. The marathon, which is eligible to become a Guinness World Records record-holder for longest variety show ever, will feature up to 100 Metropolitan Room artists, from its most prominent stars to its most promising emerging talents. On two nights of the event, Friday & Saturday, January 2nd & 3rd, Marilyn Maye will perform a full hour show at 7:00 pm. (Separate ticket purchase necessary). A complete line-up of the participating artists - anticipated to number 100 - will be announced on December 1st on the club's website. Day passes cost $25 per person, or $60 for a three-day pass. The club offers a complimentary beverage with each ticket purchased. There are no other food/drink minimums except for the Marilyn May shows.

On Monday & Tuesday, December 1st & 2nd, CCP (Chicago Cabaret Professionals) will present Merry Measures: A Holiday Cabaret!, with all proceeds being donated to Hands Together, Heart to Art, the Auditorium Theatre's summer camp for children who have lost a parent. There will be completely different programs each night featuring professional singers who are donating their time and talent for this worthwhile cause. Performances begin at 7:00 pm each night at DAVENPORT'S (1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830). Tickets are $25.

WASHINGTON, DC: WINARD HARPER & JELI POSSE AT BLUES ALLEY

Winard Harper & Jeli Posse, featuring Lori Williams, perform at BLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141 - ) on Tuesday, November 25th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Harper's lifelong jazz apprenticeship has taken him around the world. It includes playing and recording with many greats, including Betty Carter, Johnny Griffin, Dr. Billy Taylor and Dexter Gordon. Lori Williams is the lead vocalist of the Washington-based jazz ensemble - Lori Williams & Friends - and featured vocalist on The Saltman Knowles Group, The Blackbyrds, Allyn Johnson and Divine Order, Sherry Winston and Collaboration CDs. She is the Director of Vocal Music (Wilson High School) and has an extensive background in the performing arts. Lori Williams released her debut CD 'Healing Within' in 2010. WASHINGTON, DC: GEORGE V JOHNSON AT BOHEMIAN CAVERNS

George V Johnson ends his one-month residency at BOHEMIAN CAVERNS (2001 Eleventh Street N.W., Washington, DC - 202-299-0800 - ) on Tuesdays in November on the 25th with shows at 7:30 & 9:00 pm. Called "Heir Apparent" by the great Eddie Jefferson, Father of the Art of Jazz Vocalese, Johnson is considered as one of the foremost practitioners of the Art Form today. Throughout the 80's George was mentored and performed regularly with James Moody & Lou Donaldson, two of the greatest saxophonist in the history of Jazz. His close association with Moody led to perform at many jazz clubs, festivals, concert halls as well as local & National Live Radio and Television BroadcastFor the past several years performances with NEA Jazz Masters, Benny Golson, Lou Donaldson, Jimmy Cobb, Jimmy Heath have sparked a new found interest in his career. His re-emergence on the jazz scene has blossomed to concerts at the American Jazz Museum "Tribute to Charlie Parker" with Bobby Watson, Detroit Jazz Festival with the Wallace Roney Orchestra, DC Poetry Festival, Parma Jazz Festival, Ashdod Super Jazz Festival, DC Jazz Festival, Raleigh NC, Richmond Va Jazz Festival, Bohemian Caverns and more. NYC: JANE MONHEIT, JIM CARUSO & BILLY STRITCH IN "HOLLYWOODLAND: SONGS FROM THE SILVER SCREEN"

Singers Jane Monheit, Jim Caruso and singer/pianist/arranger Billy Stritch will join forces in "Hollywoodland: Songs From The Silver Screen" at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Sunday, November 23rd through Thursday, November 27th at 6:00 pm. Material will include beloved songs like "Pennies From Heaven," "Let's Misbehave," "Over The Rainbow," "If I Only Had A Brain," "Bye Bye Baby," and "It Happened In Sun Valley." The trio will be accompanied by Rick Montalbano on drums and Neal Miner on bass. Jane Monheit, Jim Caruso and Billy Stritch had such a great time working together in the Jazz at Lincoln Center concert series, and were thrilled when Birdland offered them a weeklong booking on the historic stage. The trio brings a wealth of musical experience to this show, and they love performing tightly harmonized swing arrangements and lush ballads from the 30's, 40's and 50's. There is a $30 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: CYRILLE AIMEE AT BIRDLAND

Jazz vocalist Cyrille Aimee will appear at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080 - ) on Tuesday through Saturday, November 25th through 29th with shows at 8:30 & 11:00 pm. Aimee has a culturally rich background - Dominican and French Gypsy - and conservatory training (SUNY Purchase) that help to form the rhythmic and expressive foundation by which a jury of legendary vocalists including Al Jarreau, Kurt Elling, Dianne Reeves and Dee Dee Bridgewater judged her to be a finalist in the prestigious Thelonious Monk Vocal Competition in 2010. At the young age of twenty-six, Cyrille has since become one of the hottest young artists on the New York scene. She has already released four CDs with a variety of ensembles and performed at the top venues around the world. There is a $40 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.

NYC: DAVID SANBORN AT THE BLUE NOTE

Renowned and revered the world over as one of the greatest saxophone players of all time, David Sanborn will perform at THE BLUE NOTE (131 West 3rd Street, NYC - 212-475-8592) on Thursday through Tuesday, November 20th through 25th with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. Sanborn is an artist whose music has inspired countless other musicians while creating a body of work that spans the genres of rock 'n' roll, R&B, pop, and jazz. A naturally gifted performer, Sanborn has helped define the saxophone's modern sound while influencing a generation. Throughout the '90s, '00s, and into the present, Sanborn has continued to tour and record, having amassed a wide and enthusiastic fan base around the world. Recent albums like Dreaming Girl (2008), Here & Gone (2008), and Only Everything (2010) reflect the essence of an artist at peace with his own sound and development, yet still hungry - eager to explore the possibilities of his instrument and his abilities. NYC: CRAIG BRANN SEXTET CD RELEASE AT DIZZY'S

Guitarist Craig Brann will celebrate the release of his superb new album, Mark My Words with the Craig Brann Sextet (Craig Brann, guitar; Greg Tardy & Seamus Blake, tenor saxophone; Nick Kozak, alto saxophone; Nick Morrison, bass; Jeremy "Bean" Clemons, drums) performs at DIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595 - ) on Tuesday, November 25th with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. The guitarist is relatively new to the scene, but his blazing chops, rich tone, and stellar band immediately demand attention, as do his compositions; the new album features straight-ahead jazz, bop, and some blues, with each tune featuring intricate and thoughtfully composed heads that set up some very impressive extended solos. Fans of jazz guitar will undoubtedly love this show, and those less enthusiastic about guitar in a lead role might just find themselves swayed by Brann's hornlike phrasing and improvisational flexibility. NYC: ERIC COMSTOCK AT CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA

Eric Comstock continues his residency at New York's newest music venue, CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA (178 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-995-0900) from 8:00 pm to midnight every Tuesday night. An acknowledged master of the American Songbook, Comstock has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and virtually every important nightclub in New York and across the country. He is one of only a handful of singer/pianists who can command a room merely by sitting at the piano, singing and telling stories. In addition to his extensive knowledge of repertoire, Comstock has a seemingly unending supply of anecdotes about the songs, the writers, and the stars who sang them. His unique combination of musicianship, history and charisma creates an experience that is as entertaining as it is musically savvy, and his audiences feel they've been to a terrific party where the music and the stories have been equally great. NYC: JAZZ LEGEND ANNIE ROSS TUESDAYS THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Jazz legend Annie Ross continues her unprecedented, record-breaking, multi-year run at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440), every Tuesday night at 9:30 pm. Ms. Ross has been an abundant contributor to the art of jazz for over 50 years. Born in the UK, she has been a permanent resident of the USA for many years and a US citizen since 2001. Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of "Twisted", one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as "Farmers Market", "Jackie" and many others. A founding member of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, considered the greatest jazz vocal ensemble of all time, her influence is present in all subsequent practitioners of vocalese. "Twisted" has been recorded by a host of vocalists, including some not normally associated with jazz, including Joni Mitchell and Bette Midler. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: NATHAN LEE GRAHAM - PERFECTLY PORTER!

The multi-talented Nathan Lee Graham of stage, screen and film is will present his show 'Perfectly Porter!' at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ) on Monday, November 24th at 7:00 pm. Mr. Graham explores the clever and classy music of Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Johnny Mercer and Rogers & Hart. Nathan's New York credits include the Broadway productions of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert and The Wild Party. Off-Broadway he was recently seen in Hit The Wall (Barrow Street Theatre) and Wig Out! (Vineyard Theatre- Drama League nomination), Dead And Breathing (CATF)). Nathan was a featured soloist on the 2005 Grammy Award winning "Best Classical Album" of William Bolcom's Song of Innocence and of Experience. Nathan is a consummate cabaret artist and a proud graduate of the Webster University Conservatory of Theatre Arts.

Tony-nominated Broadway star and multiple MAC Award winner Ann Hampton Callaway brings a new personal and inspiring show to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Sunday through Saturday, November 23rd through 29th (no show on Thanksgiving, the 27th) at 7:00 pm. Called Turning Points, the show explores the milestones of life as celebrated through song. Backed by The Ted Rosenthal Trio, Callaway sings classics from the Great American Songbook, Broadway, jazz and pop as well as songs the Platinum Award winning songwriter has penned. David Burtka will perform at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551 - ) on Monday & Tuesday, November 24th & 25th at 9:30 pm. David earned raves for his work in New York theater in both plays and musicals, including the role of Tulsa in the 2003 Broadway revival of Gypsy - but the call of the West Coast pulled him away for nearly a decade. Back and back for good, David is ready to leave a new impression on the New York scene! Director Neil Patrick Harris has taken the conventional cabaret structure and turned it upside down, creating a show unlike anything that has been seen before. NYC: STEVE TYRELL AT THE CAFE CARLYLE THROUGH DECEMBER 31st

Steve Tyrell returns for this annual Holiday season performances at THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-744-1600 - ) on Tuesdays through Saturdays, November 25th through December 31st (no show December 25th) at 8:45 pm with additional late shows on Friday & Saturdays at 10:45 pm. Grammy Award-winning vocalist Steve Tyrell is truly a renaissance man. In over four decades in the music business, he has achieved great success as an artist, producer, songwriter, music supervisor, and performer. In 2005, after the passing of the legendary Bobby Short, Steve was asked by New York City's Cafe Carlyle to take over their revered Holiday Season of November and December, which Mr. Short had not missed for 36 years. In 2013 Tyrell's contract was extended through his 11th season, starting a new Carlyle legacy that now also includes performances in May. Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks is an eleven-piece band playing music of the 1920s & 30s for your dining and dancing pleasure.
