NYC: TISH ONEY REPRISES THE PEGGY LEE PROJECT

Award-winning jazz vocalist/arranger Tish Oney and Grammy-winning guitarist John Chiodini present The Peggy Lee Project, their nationally-touring production celebrating the songwriting talents of the late, great Peggy Lee on Friday, January 8th at 9:45 pm at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ). While Ms. Lee was exceptionally acclaimed as one of the greatest interpreters of popular song throughout the mid-twentieth century (along with Armstrong, Crosby and Sinatra), she was also a highly prolific songwriter, composing over 270 songs in a variety of genres. Infused with facts about Lee's songwriting process, this one-night-only cabaret show highlights Oney's contemporary jazz arrangements of Lee's best-known original hits as well as little-known gems. Guitarist John Chiodini (Peggy Lee's former music director and songwriting collaborator) adds his expertise and historical authenticity to this uniquely entertaining production. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

L.A.-based jazz singer/arranger/pianist Tish Oney joins Grammy-winning guitarist John Chiodini to present The Peggy Lee Project on Sunday, January 10th at 7:00 pm at THE TRIAD (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590 - ). Tish and John put this tribute together with help from Peggy Lee's family and The Peggy Lee Foundation to share Ms. Lee's amazing songwriting talents with a new generation of fans. Oney's and Chiodini's latest album, Dear Peg, attained 2010 Grammy Award consideration for Best Jazz Vocal Album and Best Traditional Pop Album. NYC: JULIE REYBURN RETURNS TO FEINSTEIN'S FOR CD RELEASE

Award winning vocalist Julie Reyburn returns to FEINSTEIN'S at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-339-4095 - ) on Tuesday, January 12th at 8:30 pm with a special CD Release Concert of "Live at Feinstein's" released by No Cover Records. Recorded live during her July engagements at Feinstein's, Julie will perform songs from the CD along with new compositions and arrangements to celebrate the evening. Joining her will be Music Director Mark Janas with Ritt Henn on Bass and Walter Usiatynski on Drums plus other special musical guests. Director is Peter Napolitano. Reyburn is a multi-award winning singer, actor and recording artist who has appeared in many of the top clubs in Manhattan. Her ability to connect to a lyric with unique interpretations has established her as one of New York's celebrated female vocalist. She is the first ever Nightlife Award recipient for Outstanding Female Vocalist in 2003 and again in 2009 as a finalist. Gretchen Reinhagen brings "Special Kaye: A Tribute to the Incomparable Kaye Ballard", back to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ) for additional shows in 2010 on Sundays, January 17th & 24th at 4:00 pm and Thursday, February 4th at 7::30 pm. The New York run follows the successful opening night premiere at the Annenberg Theater in Palm Springs, California on November 13th and three additional shows in December at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM. Ms. Ballard, a long time resident the desert community Rancho Mirage, near Palm Springs, gave her consent to Gretchen for this project and was in attendance. A friend shared by both is well known New York voice teacher Judith Farris, whose student roster has included both Ms. Reinhagen and Ms. Ballard. "Special Kaye" is directed by Barry Kleinbort, who has also written special material and directed cabaret performances for Ms. Ballard including "Kaye Ballard...Working 42nd Street at Last" at the Kaufman Theater in New York. The multiple Emmy-Award winning Bruce Vilanch has been announced as the host of the 8th Annual Nightlife Awards to be held at THE TOWN HALL (123 West 43rd Street, NYC - 212-997-1929 - ) on Monday, January 25th at 7:00 pm. The unique All-Performance Awards show honors the most outstanding performers in the categories of Cabaret, Comedy and Jazz in the clubs of New York. This broad-based, critic-driven awards concert has the distinction of being the only awards show where the winners do not make acceptance speeches.
