No Stars Destiny Productions present Jenny Rieu Cabaret Showcase "An Evening with The Lady In Red" at M BAR (1253 North Vine Street, Hollywood, CA - 323-856-0036) on Friday, May 6th at 10:00 pm. The Jenny Rieu Cabaret Showcase will revisit some of the classics by composers such as Cole Porter, Edith Piaf and even a selection of personal songs written in French And English by the artist herself, in reference to her French Parisian heritage. Miss Rieu who has performed onstage in Paris, New York and now in Los Angeles, will be accompanied by the Russian born pianist prodigy, Michael Bogomolny. Jenny Rieu is a graduate of American Academy of Dramatic Arts of New York and a Classically trained Opera Singer, born and raised in Paris, France. She began singing when she was 13 years old and then added theater to her skills. Her savoir faire for Cabaret comes from both her theater and stage background. The artist sings both in English and French and incorporates both her sense of humour and charismatic presence. There is a $10 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.

MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets) has announced the noinees for the The 25th Annual MAC Awards which will be held Tuesday, May 10th at 7:30 PM at BB KING'S BLUES CLUB (237 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-997-4144). MAC will be announcing the winners and handing out awards in 21 categories to honor the best in live performance, recordings, songs and shows in cabaret, jazz, and standup comedy from the past year. The evening will be hosted by CHRISTINE PEDI.

Kritzerland at the Gardenia presents You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile: The Music of Charles Strouse on Wednesday, May 4th starting at 9:00 pm at THE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444 ). Over the years, Bruce Kimmel has produced CDs featuring many Charles Strouse songs, including an entire album devoted to his music, Jason Graae's "You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile." In this show, you'll hear a mix of the well-known and the really obscure - songs from such shows as Bye Bye Birdie, Golden Boy, Annie, Dance A Little Closer, Mayor, Rags, All American, and some shows you've never heard of. Special guest is Jason Graae. Host Jeannie Tanner will interview the artists during the evening and open up the discussions, taking audience questions. The concert will star Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown, Tony Award nominee Liz Callaway, Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk, Theatre world and Emmy Award winner Tovah Feldshuh, legendary Jazz guitarist and banjoist Bucky Pizzarelli and Tony Award nominee Emily Skinner. The art form known as cabaret, featuring the American song book, musical theater and contemporary songwriters, comes to southeast Michigan for 8 performances, beginning Thursday, April 7th at BASTONE (419 South Main Street, Royal Oak, MI - tkts: cabaretdetroit.com ).
