NYC: ALGONQUIN SALON SUNDAYS IN HOTEL LOBBY
2009 MAC AWARD NOMINEE Mark Janas' Algonquin Salon usually takes place on Sunday nights from 7:00 to 10:00 pm in the lobby of THE ALGONQUIN HOTEL (59 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-419-9331 - ). The Salon is a weekly event in which singers, writers and musicians share their talent with each other and audience members in the lobby of the Algonquin Hotel. Salon Producer Peter Napolitano has announced that for Sunday, September 6th he will present as guest host Dana Lorge. The optional theme will be "A CERTAIN AGE!" celebrating the joys and pains of getting older as well as songs about all the age related experiences of life whether it's the joys of childhood, the angst of puberty, young adulthood, mid-life crisis, menopause, and, of course. the golden years. Remember, any material, on or off-theme, is always welcome at the Algonquin Salon. There is no cover and no minimum.

NYC: METROJAM OPEN MIC WITH JENNA ESPOSITO & CHRISTINE LAVIN
METROJAM, the monthly cabaret/jazz open mic event held at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ), will have its next show on Friday, September 4th at 10:00 pm featuring its new host, Jenna Esposito. Jenna's special guest headliner this month is Christine Lavin. Open-mic performers have a chance to perform with a full jazz band. Guest vocalists from the worlds of cabaret and jazz are always on hand to take a turn at the microphone. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
