NYC: SHEPLEY METCALF - "DON'T BOTHER TO KNOCK" CD RELEASE

Vocalist Shepley Metcalf is celebrating the release of her third recording, "Don't Bother to Knock," with a series of shows on the east coast this Fall. New Yorkers can catch Metcalf at the THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) for one show on Saturday, November 1st at 7:00 pm, singing music from the CD along with some other lesser-known gems from the Great American Songbook. Musical partner, Ron Roy, will be at the piano. "Don't Bother to Knock" is a dream project for Metcalf: a collection of songs from the 1930's to 50's with high charm factor that have been rarely recorded since their debut. Her love of song sleuthing means months and sometimes years of searching out and listening to unique music defined by humor, lovely melodies and clever lyrics. This singularity is a modus operandi that has served Metcalf well on her previous recordings and many performances, where fans can always count on hearing a carefully selected set no one else is performing on any bandstand, anywhere. For "Don't Bother to Knock" she found inspiration in artists of yore like Annette Hanshaw, Mildred Bailey and Anita O'Day and writers including Johnny Burke (with Harold Spina, "You're Not the Only Oyster in the Stew), Dorothy Fields (with Burton Lane, "Have Feet, Will Dance") and Richard Whiting (with George Marion Jr., "My Future Just Passed"). MEMBER CABARET EVENT TONIGHT IN NYC: SHEPLEY METCALF - "DON'T BOTHER TO KNOCK" CD RELEASE

MEMBER CABARET EVENT TONIGHT IN NYC: SHEPLEY METCALF - "DON'T BOTHER TO KNOCK" CD RELEASE

There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

LONDON: JULIAN CLARY: FOR THE LOVE OF COQS

Julian Clary brings his show 'The Love Of Coqs' to THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Tuesday through Saturday, October 27th through November 1st at 8:00 pm. The show is about music, an abundance of laughter, sharp- witted jibes - often at the expense of the audience - and partying up close and personal with the man himself. Much-loved comedian and elder statesman of the double entendre, Julian remains one of England's most popular and least predictable entertainers. In the past year Julian's career has gone from strength-to-strength. He has completed a smash-hit UK tour of Position Vacant: Apply Within, lent his sharp tongue to the judging panel on Your Face Sounds Familiar (ITV), shared an insight into his 30 year career in showbiz on Piers Morgan's Life Stories (ITV) and terrorised the audience with a cattle prod on The Jonathan Ross Show (ITV). Since winning Celebrity Big Brother in 2012, Julian has also appeared on numerous TV shows and remains a regular panelist on BBC Radio 4's Just a Minute. He is also a Sunday Times best-selling novelist and his third book, Briefs Encountered, was published in March 2013 to unanimous praise. Call for cover/minimum information.

LONDON: ANNABEL LEVENTON AND ROBERT MEADMORE: 'IMPERFECT RELATIONSHIPS'

Barry Mishon presents Annabel Leventon and Robert Meadmore with their show 'Imperfect Relationships' at THE PHEASANTRY (152-154 King's Road, London SW3 4UT - 08456 027 017) on Friday through Wednesday, October 31st through November 5th at 8:30 pm. Annabel Leventon and Robert Meadmore are two of the most respected talents in musical theatre. Bizarrely, after a lifetime in the West End, they only met last year in Jerry Herman's 'Dear World'. This led to them joining forces in in February 2014, to present their show 'Imperfect Relationships' to packed houses. Now The Pheasantry gives you a second chance to see this fantastic show - a witty, sparkling blend of songs, humour and anecdotes about the trials, the triumphs, the passions, the pleasures and the pitfalls of imperfect relationships, a subject on which they both admit to being experts!
