NYC TONIGHT: SIDEWALK SWINGS PRESENTS JERRY COSTANZO
Crooner Jerry Costanzo performs at SIDEWALK CAFE (94 Avenue A, NYC - 212-473-7373) on Wednesday, May 1st at 8:00 pm. Mr. Costanzo has assembled a quartet of New York's finest musicians, including Pianist/arranger Tedd Firth, Guitarist Joe Cohn, Bassist Neal Miner and Drummer Johathan Mele, to accompany him.. A charismatic crooner dedicated to the preservation of the Great American Songbook, Costanzo's stylish interpretations of Songbook classics transport audiences to an era when this sultry, swinging music was the "pop" of the day.The new CD "Invitation" features 14 songs including the title track, as well as a new single "The Lonely One/Nature Boy", a medley of two Nat King Cole classic tunes. Joining Jerry as his guest, will be Jazz pianist and singer Champian Fulton putting her artistic spin on "Here's To The Losers", one of two duets featured on "Invitation". There is a $15 cover.
