MEMBER DISCOUNT - $5 OFF THE COVER

Following two sold out performances at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788), Al Tulane returns with an encore presentation of 'Act of A Lifetime - Cheaper Than Therapy' on Friday, April 1st at 10:00 pm. Al will be joined on stage by Jay Rogers, recently seen in the Off-Broadway revival of Once Upon A Mattress. By day, he's known as Mr. Tulin in the hallowed halls of the renowned Trinity School on the Upper West Side, where he teaches performing arts and directs musicals. But by night, he's Al Tulane, "The Man of a Million Names," who wows audiences with his performances in places such as Manhattan's Le Cirque, Daniel, and The Four Seasons, as well as Palm Beach and Bel-Air all the way to Athens and Cap d'Antibes. Both sides of this versatile performer can be seen onstage in Act of a Lifetime - Cheaper Than Therapy. Accompanied by music director Christopher Howatt, Al will regale audiences with stories and anecdotes from his career as an actor and performer, drawing on standards from the stage and screen to tell his story. Alan Tulin and his alter ego Al Tulane: The Man of a Million Names were bitten by the Broadway Bug in the early 60's and have been bugging Broadway ever since! Fueled by a desire to perform, Al sang and danced his way through Emerson College, Summer Stock, Regional Theatre and Atlantic City until he landed in the window of the Landmark stationary store on the corner of 44th and Madison as emcee host of a mid-day variety show! In 1980 Al took a detour to Cairo where he headlined for six months at the Holiday Inn Pyramids Hotel in Giza while perfecting his camel riding skills. Numerous television appearances on the PBS series "In the Life" and off Broadway runs in the Drama Desk Award-winning musical Howard Crabtree's Whoop-Dee-Doo and Tony 'n Tina's Wedding followed. For more than twenty years Al has also been directing musicals as a member of the Performing Arts Department at Manhattan's Trinity School. BREAKING NEWS OF CABARET FROM AROUND THE WORLD! SAN JOSE, CA: APRIL HEATS UP AS SOCIETY CABARET OPENS IN SAN JOSE

BREAKING NEWS OF CABARET FROM AROUND THE WORLD!

SAN JOSE, CA: APRIL HEATS UP AS SOCIETY CABARET OPENS IN SAN JOSE

Society Cabaret brings quality performances to San Francisco and now re-opens in San Jose, CA, in an intimate and inviting venue highlighting stars and regional entertainers who tell their stories through song and word. Opening Weekend will be Friday & Saturday, April 22nd & 23rd at SOCIETY CABARET SAN JOSE at the HOTEL DE ANZA (233 West Santa Clara Street, San Jose, CA - 408-676-6471) - showtimes at 8:00 pm. Opening Weekend begins Friday, April 22nd with Armelle Delaney in "Songs From My Journey Around the World" and continues on Saturday, April 23rd with Stephanie Lynne Smith in "Miss Smith's Big San Jose Opening". Society Cabaret partners with Hotel De Anza, a Destination Hotel, to bring fine dining and excellent entertainment to the Silicon Valley. A Society Cabaret evening in San Jose will showcase piano and vocal live performances of 75-90 minutes in length in an intimate venue where artists can flourish to the delight of the audience. The performances are by regional and national artists from a variety of musical and theatrical genres including Broadway, Cabaret, American Standards, Contemporary, Pop and Jazz.

About Armelle Delaney in "Songs From My Journey Around the World": It could be said that the rich complexity of Armelle's beautiful voice is the result of the rich diversity of her life. Having been reared in Australia by a French mother and a father who holds both American and Chilean citizenship, Armelle Delaney is truly a citizen of the world! Armelle's influences range from jazz greats Carmen McRae & Anita O'Day to the queen, Ella Fitzgerald. You can hear 'tastes' of these influences in her phrasing and power. Whether belting out the Blues, caressing the lyrics of a standard jazz tune or pounding out the beat of a classic Motown hit, Armelle consistently transcends expectations. She really does pour her heart and soul into every performance, making each song her own.

About Stephanie Lynne Smith in "Miss Smith's Big San Jose Opening": "Miss Smith," pianist, producer and entertainer Stephanie Lynne Smith brings her personal brand of celebration as she headlines a night of originals and fresh performance concepts. The evening features composer Paul James Frantz, Shane Kroll (SAG-AFTRA), Johnny G, Grace Renaud, and award winning Bay Area theater darling Jacqueline DeMuro. Miss Smith burst onto the scene when her YouTube video "How to Treat Your Pianist" reached 30,000 views in its first week, and has since found her niche teaching performance classes and producing original One Act shows specifically designed to premiere new works in a palatable environment. Described as "a drill sergeant with a heart of gold," Miss Smith uses humor and a sharp tongue to guide you through this action-packed display of talent that promises to delight, entertain and impress.
About The Hotel De Anza: The historic Hotel De Anza opened its doors to the public on February 26, 1931. The original concept of the hotel began in 1929, the end of the infamous Roaring Twenties, after the West Santa Clara Development Association planned to build one of the only "first-class hotels" in San Jose. H.H. Weeks, the De Anza's original architect, designed the 144-room hotel to be built at a cost of $505,000. Together with builder Carl Swenson the construction of the ten-story building was completed in just one year. The Hotel De Anza became a renowned addition to a city once recognized for its productive agriculture. Built amongst the cherry and plum orchards, the hotel brought a certain fashionable decor and lifestyle. The hotel soon began to attract celebrities and politicians as guests. SWEET LIFE - A NEW CD BY JIM SPEAKE

This recording had a long gestation, starting when Jim was born in Florence Alabama in1945. This was very close to the place where musical magic was to be made, the famous recording studios in Muscle Shoals. By coincidence, Percy Sledge was born in the same little town where his family and Jim lived, Leighton, Alabama. He had a major hit with his first recording in 1966, and the "Muscle Shoals Sound" was firmly established. Jim Speake had music in his life from an early age, because he sang along with his mother when she played the piano and sang. A track of his first recording session at four, can be found on Jim's first CD, "Jim Speake Sings My Generation." It was expected that he would go into the family business of farming. Instead, when Speake went to college, he earned degrees in Business Administration, University of Alabama and ultimately Landscape Architecture, University of Georgia. If he had followed my heart, he would have studied music. That was a road Jim did not take seriously until he moved to New York City in 2000. There, while studying acting and voice, Jim was lucky enough to meet some key people who have been vital to his development as a singer. At H.B. Studio, he met KT Sullivan. KT introduced Jim to Eric Michael Gillett. Eric Michael introduced him to Patrick DeGennaro. Patrick introduced him to Lennie Watts and Steven Ray Watkins. 2015 marked the tenth anniversary of his collaboration with these two talented men. Most of the arrangements on this recording were developed working with this same team. It is not a stretch to say thatSpeake would not have made this recording had he not met Lennie and Steven. He especially appreciates Lennie's support through this journey and also introducing him to Paul Rolnick.

DUNELLEN, NJ: PEACHES AND CRIME BRING THEATRE AND MUSIC BACK TO RADIO THEATER
You Choose The Action Murder Mystery Before Live Audience

For years, the all-original Vaudeville variety musical act Peaches and Crime has been bringing a revival of a vibrant, varied, and unpredictable stage art for to stages across New York and beyond. But on Saturday, April 23rd at 9:00 pm, Peaches and Crime will bring their special brand of macabre music and wit to ROXY & DUKEIS ROADHOUSE (745 Bound Brook Road, Dunellen, NJ - 732-529-4464) reviving yet another neglected American art form - a live radio play, fresh from its premier at Manhattan's exclusive FEINSTEINS/54 BELOW cabaret. For decades, live radio drama and comedy broadcasts were the American public's principle and most easily-available form of home entertainment. Before television became practical but after the movies drove many Vaudevillians away from successful touring stage careers, radio brought the country's greatest performers into the homes of the public while leaving space for the listener's visual imagination to work. The comedies were invariably performed before a live audience, with the actors holding scripts and wearing street clothes, but nonetheless bringing their characters to life with the energy of live theatre. Aware that in Dunellen their primary listenership will be sitting in front of them rather than listening at home, Peaches and Crime have added an audience participation element to the proceedings, pausing the play at several key points to allow the audience to decide which choices characters will make and what course the action will take. There is a $12 cover in advance ($20 cash cover at door) - available at https://www.showclix.com/event/peaches-and-crime
