PICK FOR TONIGHT - NYC: L.A.'S JOANNE TATHAM SINGS "SOUNDTRACK NEW YORK"
Joanne Tatham brings her jazz-infused vocal storytelling to her debut at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) in "Soundtrack New York: Music from Movies Made in Manhattan" on Monday, May 13th at 9:30 pm and Saturday, June 22nd at 4:00 pm. A carefully edited survey of songs from iconic movies filmed right on the city streets (from "Breakfast at Tiffany's" to "Midnight Cowboy", from "West Side Story" to "Tootsie") this brand-new show includes the work of The Gershwins, Burt Bacharach, Kander and Ebb, Marilyn and Alan Bergman, Henry Mancini with Rod McKuen, and so many more. Arrangements are contributed by Tamir Hendelman (Barbra Streisand), Brad Ellis (Glee) and Eli Brueggemann (Saturday Night Live). Ms. Tatham is a transplanted New Yorker currently based in Los Angeles, where she has regular bookings at Catalina's Jazz Club and has delighted audiences at Vibrato, The Baked Potato, The Gardenia, as well as San Francisco's Plush Room and as a regular guest artist with the Desert Cities Jazz Band. In NYC, she has appeared at The Duplex, The Triad and at Feinstein's at Loews Regency, and has been a featured artist of the Mabel Mercer Cabaret Conventions. She is currently at work on a new album inspired by 70's rhythm and blues. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
