NYC: JAZZ VOCALIST AND BBC HOST CLAIRE MARTIN AT DIZZY'S

NYC: JAZZ VOCALIST AND BBC HOST CLAIRE MARTIN AT DIZZY'S

London based Jazz Vocalist and BBC Host Claire Martin will appear atDIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595) on Monday & Tuesday, May 13th & 14th with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. Rightly acclaimed as the outstanding voice of her generation, Claire Martin has been a driving force behind the jazz scene in the United Kingdom for the past 25 years and has won many accolades, including being a six-time winner of the British Jazz Award and opening for Tony Bennett. In 2011 her massive contribution to U.K. jazz was noted when she was honored as the recipient of an O.B.E. in the Queen's Birthday Honours List for her services to jazz. A host of the BBC's popular 10-year weekly jazz show Jazz Line Up, Martin takes a break to head to New York City for a special engagement at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Having made her New York City debut at The Algonquin Hotel in 2007 with a long, sold-out run, Martin brings her distinctive sound and intercontinental style to Dizzy's for her first engagement at the world-class club as a solo recording artist. She previously performed at Dizzy's in 2007 with Ian Shaw for three sold-out nights as part of the Women in Jazz Festival. Beloved for her trademark cocktail of standards, sass, swing and lesser-known gems, Martin last performed in New York in 2011 when she performed sold-out shows at Jazz at Lincoln Center with pianist Bill Charlap and at The Algonquin with the late Sir Richard Rodney Bennett. Call for cover/minimum information.
