Spotlight On Productions brings what is bound to become the hit of this cabaret season: Teresa Fischer aka "Lady T"'s "Comedy Roulette!" with performances at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Monday, May 18th at 7:00 pm; Saturday, May 30th at 5:00 pm; Monday, June 5th at 7:00 pm; and Monday, June 15th at 7:00 pm. Praised and adored for her comedic turn of a song, Teresa Fischer features some truly funny songs from her repertoire and introducing some new ones. She is finally giving us this DON'T MISS cabaret hour of hilarity and fun! "Comedy Roulette!" features an all comedy song line-up and is broken up into four "Comedy game show" segments where the audience decides what Lady T will sing next! "Game Show Host" Frank Calo presides over the hilarity and will even join in on a song or two. And, yes, there will be puppets! Cabaret veteran Paul Chamlin is the musical director and one-man band for this fun evening that features special musical arrangements by Paul Chamlin and Andrew David Sotomayor. Frank Calo, Artistic Director of Spotlight On Productions, directs and hosts. Lady T has taken us on quite a ride that past few years with her shows "Destinations and Detours", "Hip To Be Happy" and "Scene Of The Crime" (which was on Cabaret Hotline Online's Top Ten list for 2011). Her debut CD LET IT GO was released in the fall of 2012 and Christmas Is• - a collaboration with Candice Corbin and Andrew David Sotomayor - was released in December 2013. NYC: A VERY DREXLER CABARET AT THE BEECHMAN
Identical twin sisters Lily and Michelle Drexler bring their show, A Very Drexler Cabaret, to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Monday, May 18th at 7:00 pm as they explore their relationship from womb to womanhood. Double the comedy, double the showtunes and double the shtick! From Broadway hits to standards to pop anthems, there is something for everyone in this hilarious and poignant piece. After a sold out run at Feinstein's in San Francisco, the Drexler twins are thrilled to bring their show to New York City and add Broadway veteran and comedian Nell Balaban on as director! Michelle Drexler has been seen on regional stages all over the country performing many styles from Shakespeare to Musical Theater. Companies she has worked with include Shotgun Players, San Francisco Playhouse, San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, Berkeley Playhouse, Kingsman Shakespeare Company, 42nd Street Moon, Great River Shakespeare Festival and American Repertory Theatre. Lily Drexler is a San Francisco native who now calls Brooklyn her home! New York credits include Dark Water (MTWorks), The Empress of Sex (Bleecker Street Theatre), Love's Labors Lost (Easy Leap), Rags (Beautiful Soup), American Nightcap (INTAR), The Art of Dyeing (TinyRhino). Regional credits include Into the Woods (San Francisco Playhouse), Coriolanus (Commonwealth Shakespeare Co.), A Midsummer Night's Dream, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Sonnet Sonata (Shakespeare in the Valley).
