NYC: ERIC COMSTOCK AT CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA - FINAL WEEKS

Eric Comstock returns to his residency at New York's newest music venue, CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA (178 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-995-0900) from 8:00 pm to midnight every Tuesday night. An acknowledged master of the American Songbook, Comstock has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and virtually every important nightclub in New York and across the country. He is one of only a handful of singer/pianists who can command a room merely by sitting at the piano, singing and telling stories. In addition to his extensive knowledge of repertoire, Comstock has a seemingly unending supply of anecdotes about the songs, the writers, and the stars who sang them. His unique combination of musicianship, history and charisma creates an experience that is as entertaining as it is musically savvy, and his audiences feel they've been to a terrific party where the music and the stories have been equally great. NYC: CARMELA RAPPAZZO AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Carmela Rappazzo performs at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Tuesday, May 18th at 7:00 pm. Carmela grew up in upstate New York learning the Great American Songbooks at an early age, as her father was a big band swing coronet player and the large Sicilian family gatherings always included live music. She got involved in musical theater in high school but was enthralled by jazz. She moved to Boston in her late teens hanging out in Paul's Mall and the Jazz Workshop listening to the greats play live and sitting in as a singer with friends who were attending Berkley. Arriving back in New York City she attended 'Theatrium' (a Strasberg Institute training) and became involved in off-off broadway theater and appeared in a few independent films, later training with Eric Morris. Carmela moved to Los Angeles in 1992, working in the L. A. Theater scene and on several feature films with such notable film directors as Rob Reiner, Wolfgang Petersen, Jonathan Lynn and Ken Kwapis. She continued her vocal training with Dan Balestrero. She began to perform in the L. A. Jazz scene with the Jon Mayer trio and recorded her first record 'Black and White', a straight ahead standards record with them. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: JAZZ LEGEND ANNIE ROSS TUESDAYS THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Jazz legend Annie Ross continues her unprecedented, record-breaking, multi-year run at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440), every Tuesday night at 9:30 pm. Ms. Ross has been an abundant contributor to the art of jazz for over 50 years. Born in the UK, she has been a permanent resident of the USA for many years and a US citizen since 2001. Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of "Twisted", one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as "Farmers Market", "Jackie" and many others. A founding member of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, considered the greatest jazz vocal ensemble of all time, her influence is present in all subsequent practitioners of vocalese. "Twisted" has been recorded by a host of vocalists, including some not normally associated with jazz, including Joni Mitchell and Bette Midler. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: PAMELA AFESI - CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?

Singer and actor Pamela Afesi will make her cabaret debut at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Tuesday, May 19th at 7:00 pm. Her show 'Can You Hear Me Now?" is a musical journey through life's ups, downs, and somewhere in between, finding a voice. Musical Director is Michael James Roy and her director is Susan Campanaro. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: LIFE SIGNS WITH KYLE MOTSINGER

Actor/ singer/ songwriter Kyle Motsinger follows up last year's show "Faces" with a new show featuring his original pop/rock songs and covers aimed at finding a balance between the private and the public at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 - ) on Tuesday, May 19th at 9:30 pm. Directed by Colleen Harris, "Life Signs" defines what is precious about our inner lives in the age of oversharing. Kyle Motsinger has taken part in many shows at 54 Below, The Metropolitan Room, The West End, New World Stages, as well as at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre. He originated the role of Lionel in Off-Broadway's "Fancy Nancy the Musical" for Vital Theatre Company and is also featured on the cast recording on Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records. Kyle is currently writing songs for his debut album and his first musical. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: "LOOK UP! THE SONGS OF TURNER AND GRUSECKI" AT THE BEECHMAN

"Look Up! the songs of Turner and Grusecki" returns to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE(407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) for one final performance on Tuesday, May 19th at 7:00 pm. The show is a musical revue about connecting and disconnecting, written by Off-Broadway singer-songwriters Anya Turner and Robert Grusecki. The duo will be joined by singers Darcy Yellin and Tom Picasso in an evening of contemporary songs directed by Stephen Nachamie. Song titles include "Cell Phone" "Fifty Is The New Twenty-Five" and "If You See Something, Say Something". There is a $20 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

NYC: "SEARCH: PAUL CLAYTON" THE MAN WHO LOVED BOB DYLAN

STAGE 72 (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590) presents the New York premiere of a new folk musical, 'Search: Paul Clayton, the Man Who Loved Bob Dylan', which features 14 classic folk songs, The show will play for 13 performances only from Wednesday, May 6th through Thursday, May 21st. Showtimes and days vary so check the STAGE 72 Website. The opening night is Thursday, May 7th at 7:00 pm, with a second show on Friday, May 8th at 9:00 pm. 'Search: Paul Clayton' celebrates the true story in words and song of one of Bob Dylan's first musical mentors. Paul Clayton of New Bedford, Massachusetts was the most recorded young folk singer in America when Bobby Zimmerman arrived in 1961 Greenwich Village to begin his career as Bob Dylan. It was Paul who helped open the doors of the folk world to him. From 1961 to 1965 Paul taught Bob the tricks of the trade, while falling hopelessly in love with him. The show was conceived and written by Larry Mollin ("Beverly Hills 90210"), directed by Randal Myler (Tony Award nominee, It Ain't Nothin' But The Blues) with musical direction by Fred Mollin and is produced by Dan Whitten and TIGER Theatricals. "Search: Paul Clayton" will feature Peter Oyloe as Paul Clayton, Jared Weiss as Bob Dylan, Ereni Sevasti as Joan Baez, Jaime Babbitt as Carla Rotolo, Allan Harris as the Rev. Gary Davisand Michael Lanning as Dave Van Ronk. Call for cover/minimum information.

In Baker's Dozen, acclaimed UK actor/ singer Paul Baker revisits 13 significant events in his life and career in his NYC cabaret debut at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Tuesday, May 19th at 9:30 pm. Hilariously funny and honest to the core, Paul will take you on a journey of memories and musical associations from a hugely successful career, from his first musical recollections to the highs of winning an Olivier Award for his critically lauded portrayal of Philip Salon in the original London cast of Boy George's Taboo. NYC: EXPLORING JEWISH MUSIC WITH ZION80 AT JOE'S PUB

Zion80 explores Jewish music - from Shlomo Carlebach to John Zorn and everything in between - through the lens of the Afrobeat funk master Fela Anikulapo Kuti at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Tuesdays, May 12th, 19th & 26th and June 2nd & 9th at 9:30 pm. Led by Jon Madof (Rashanim, Matisyahu), the 11-piece band arranges Jewish melodies using the polyrhythmic intensity of Afrobeat, blended with the madness of the Downtown scene. Madof's most ambitious project to date, Zion80 is blazing hot and tight as a drum. Spiritual, grooving and endlessly exciting, this is essential Jewish music for the 21st century. NYC: DINE & DANCE WITH VINCE GIORDANO AND THE NIGHTHAWKS - NOW AT THE IGUANA

Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks are back - and now will play every Monday & Tuesday night from 8:00 to 11:00 pm at at IGUANA'S VIP LOUNGE (240 West 54th Street, NYC - 212-765-5454). Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks is an eleven-piece band playing music of the 1920s & 30s for your dining and dancing pleasure. In 1976 Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks (originally known as the New Orleans Nighthawks) was formed. A big-band historian and collector, Giordano has more than 60,000 scores in his collection. Giordano is the leading American specialist in the jazz styles of the 1920s and 1930s. His primary instrument is the bass saxophone. Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks have performed at countless music festivals and concert dates, and have appeared in - and provided music for - dozens of television and film projects, including the award-winning HBO series Boardwalk Empire.
