COCOA BEACH, FL: LORRI HAFER WITH MIKE HAFER AT HEIDI'S JAZZ CLUB
World renowned Big Band/ Jazz vocalist Lorri Hafer, with her husband Mike Hafer on piano, will be performing at HEIDI'S JAZZ CLUB(7 North Orlando Avenue, Cocoa Beach, FL - 321-783-4559) on Friday & Saturday, May 22,d & 23rd, 3 sets nightly from 8:00 pm. Lorri was the lead vocalist with the Hillside Singers on their worldwide hit, "I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing In Perfect Harmony". She is a sultry singer who has performed with several prestigious Big Bands including the Glenn Miller Orchestra and Les Brown's Band Of Renown. She is currently an "on air" personality for the "Music Of Your Life " radio network. She and her husband Mike will be joined by bassist Al Dodds, and drummer Stan Soloko for an evening of Lorri's favorite jazz standards, and selections from her CD, "The Very Thought Of You". PALM BEACH, FL: T. OLIVER REID AT THE ROYAL ROOM CABARET
T. Oliver Reid will perform at THE ROYAL ROOM at THE COLONY HOTEL (155 Hammond Avenue, Palm Beach, FL - 561-659-8100) on Saturdays, May 23rd & 30th at 8:00 pm. A native of the small town of Gastonia North Carolina, T. Oliver Reid has been performing since he could walk and talk. The youngest of 4 children, he began singing in the choir of St. Stephen's AME Zion church, as part of a very musical family. By the age of nine he had terrorized his family enough by singing the entire cast recording of "Annie" every afternoon and soon found himself on the stage of The Little Theater of Gastonia in the musical, "Shenandoah", thanks to Debbie Rhyne and George Gray, beginning a loving and nurturing relationship with performing that has lasted 30 years and is still going strong. T. Oliver performed throughout his childhood and adolescence, with the guidance of George Gray, Andrew Millard, Mark Hyde, Rebecca Rhyne, Debbie Rhyne and Trip McGill. After Graduating from high school, he was awarded a scholarship, talent based of course, to The University of North Carolina School of the Arts. While studying Music with a focus on Vocal Performance, he had the privilege and great fortune to study with Frederick Moses, Phyllis Tektonidis and Glenn Seibert who taught, not only, technique but the artistry of good musicianship and self preservation. During his experience at UNCSA, he was also lucky enough to study with Victoria Bussert, David Craig, Gerald Freedman, Matilda Nichol, Duncan Noble and Melissa Hayden Two days after graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Music, he began work on the 2nd National tour of "Once On This Island". T. Oliver subsequently performed in the 2nd national tour of "Guys & Dolls" and in other regional theaters before making his way to New York City and Broadway. His Broadway credits include "Chicago", "Kiss Me Kate", "Follies", "Thoroughly Modern Milllie", "Never Gonna Dance", "La Cage Aux Folles", "The Wedding Singer", "Mary Poppins", "Damn Yankees" and the 25th Anniversary concert of "Dreamgirls". T. Oliver has been lucky enough to work with some of the Great White Way's brightest and best performers including Chita Rivera, Bryan Stokes Mitchell, Jane Krakowski, Karen Ziemba, Blythe Danner, Judith Ivey, Marin Mazzie, Sutton Foster, and Robert Goulet. The list of Directors, Choreographers and Musical Directors he has had the great fortune to work with include the likes of Michael Blakemore, Kathleen Marshall, Rob Marshall, Rob Ashford, Casey Nicolaw, Matthew Warchus, Jerry Zaks, Ann Reinking, Jerry Mitchell and Sir Richard Eyre. T. Oliver Reid is the winner of the Metropolitan Room's "2010 Metrostar Challenge" and was also a featured artist in The 21st New York Cabaret Convention. Call for cover/minimum information.
