LONDON: JULIAN CLARY 'FOR THE LOVE OF COQS'
Following his sell-out residency in 2014, Julian Clary is back at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Tuesday through Saturday, May 19th through 23rd at 8:00 pm with 'For The Love Of Coqs', a daringly intimate evening of camp cabaret alongside his pianist Simon Wallace. Expect music, an abundance of laughter, sharp- witted jibes, often at the expense of the audience, and partying up close and personal with the man himself. Much-loved comedian and elder statesman of the double entendre, Julian remains one of the country's most popular and least predictable entertainers. In the past year Julian's career has gone from strength to strength. He has completed a smash-hit UK tour of Position Vacant: Apply Within, lent his sharp tongue to the judging panel on Your Face Sounds Familiar (ITV), shared an insight into his 30 year career in showbiz on Piers Morgan's Life Stories (ITV) and terrorized the audience with a cattle prod on The Jonathan Ross Show (ITV). Since winning Celebrity Big Brother in 2012, Julian has also appeared on numerous TV shows and remains a regular panelist on BBC Radio 4's Just a Minute. He is also a Sunday Times best-selling novelist and his third book, Briefs Encountered, was published in March 2013 to unanimous praise. Call for cover/minimum information.
LONDON: GABRIELLE DUCOMBLE: PARISIAN-STYLE JAZZ AND TANGO
THE PHEASANTRY (152-154 King's Road, London SW3 4UT - 08456 027 017) presents a springtime concert with a French mood as Gabrielle Ducomble performs songs from her recent albums, Notes from Paris and J'ai Deux Amours, plus her own original material on Tuesday, May 18th at 8:30 pm. She is joined by special guest Vincenzo Castrini on accordion. Singing in English and French, Gabrielle puts a fresh jazz spin on iconic chansons by Piaf, Legrand, Gainsbourg, Jobim and Piazzolla. From 'La Vie en Rose' to 'Oblivion', these are songs of joy, laughter, memories, bitter-sweet love and passion. Accordion and guitar entwine in haunting refrains, while Gabrielle's seductive vocals pack an emotional punch. Vincenzo Castrini: accordion, Luca Boscagin: guitar, Demi Garcia: percussion. Call for cover/minimum information.
