NYC: GEORGA OSBORNE IS "BACK" AT MAMA'S

Back Stage Bistro and MAC Award winning popular cabaret artist and comedienne Georga Osborne returns to the stage after a 10-year hiatus in a brand new one-woman show, "back" at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788 ) with one last show on Sunday, October 12th at 3:00 pm. Featuring an eclectic mix of music from Aretha to Winwood and Ahrens & Flaherty to Rodgers & Hammerstein, "back" is about being back on the cabaret stage, looking back, realizing we can't go back, and "Oh! My back!" The show is directed by Lennie Watts and Steven Ray Watkins provides musical direction. There may even be a special visit from 1960s-70s Pop Sensation (and Georga's pal and spirit guide), Mrs. Miller! Osborne is known for her tributes to Mrs. Miller and more recently for her appearances as Florence Foster Jenkins in "Souvenir: A Fantasy on the Life of Florence Foster Jenkins" by Stephen Temperley. Georga Osborne has a Bistro Award for Outstanding Musical Comedy Performer as well as two MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets) Awards in the same category. The cross-over artist has appeared on Broadway in "Meet Me in St. Louis" and has toured extensively in multiple international tours of such productions as the Cameron Mackintosh/National Theatre of Great Britain's production of "My Fair Lady", "The Sound of Music" (with both Marie Osmond and Debby Boone) and "Hansel und Gretel" as the Knusperhexe with the Pittsburgh Opera Theater. In addition, she has sung back-up vocals for Bjork and dragged Renee Fleming across the stage at Carnegie Hall in "A Streetcar Named Desire." There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

FEATURED CABARET FESTIVAL EVENT

CCP (Chicago Cabaret Professionals ) presents their GALA BENEFIT 2014 "THE SONG'S THE THING" at THE PARK WEST (322 West Armitage, Chicago, IL - TKTS: 800-514-3849 - http://www.etix.com/ ) on Sunday, October 12th. The event will honor Stephen Wallem & Denise McGowan Tracy.
Doors open at 5:45 pm. Tickets: $60 for Reserved Table & Booth Seating ; $30 for General Admission Balcony/Bar Seating.
The Cocktail Hour Show at 6:15 with musical direction by George Howe, will feature members of Chicago Cabaret Professionals and guests: Anne & Mark Burnell, Cynthia Clarey, Pam Peterson, Jan Slavin, Cheryl Szucitis, Kat Victoria and the cast of WOZ: Heather Currie, Clara D'Onofrio, Edward Fraim, Scott Gryder, Kimberly Lawson, David Lipschutz, James Nedrud, Kevin Webb, Sarah Wurz and Nick Sula.
The 7:00 pm show will feature members of Chicago Cabaret Professionals and guests: Cheri Coons, Joan Curto, Jeff Dean, Elizabeth Doyle, David Edelfelt, Hilary Feldman, Laura Freeman, Foiled Again (Alison Bazarko, Rob Lindley, Anne Smith), Carla Gordon, Scott Gryder, George Howe, KT McCammond, Beckie Menzie, Tom Michael, Bob Moreen, Paul Motondo, Daryl Nitz, Marianne Murphy Orland, Suzanne Petri, Johnny Rodgers, Nick Sula & Melissa Young.

PALM SPRINGS: "UNFORGETTABLE - THE NAT KING COLE SONGBOOK"

Chances are Sheldon Craig is going to be singing your favorite Nat King Cole song in his one-man tribute show "Unforgettable - The Nat King Cole Songbook" at THE ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATRE at the JOSLYN CENTER (73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert, CA - TKTS: 760-325-2731) on Sunday, October 12th at 2:00 pm as part of Les Michaels' Sundays In Summer Series. He is joined by David DuVall on piano. Sheldon Craig perfected this show during extended runs in Las Vegas as well as tours of Europe, Asia, and the US and his lengthy musical theater resume also includes an extended national tour in "Dreamgirls". Mr. Craig has also been a featured soloist with Seattle and Tacoma Symphony Orchestras and Houston, Los Angeles, and Long Beach Philharmonics. There is an $11 cash cover.
