NYC: CAROLYN MONTGOMERY-FORANT: VISIBLE PHOENIX

MAC, Back Stage Bistro and Nightlife Award winning singer, songwriter and recording artist Carolyn Montgomery-Forant, returns to the New York City stage in her first solo show in eight years! Her show 'Visible Phoenix' will be presented at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Fridays, October 17th, November 21st, December 22nd*, 2014 and again on Fridays, March 8th, April 10th and May 8th, 2015 - all shows at 7:00 pm. *The December 22, 2014 at 7:00 is a special holiday performance, with guests. Musical direction is by Donald Rebic (Leslie Uggams, Karen Akers), and the show features a five-piece band and Carolyn's trio of back-up singers, The Fine Whine. Directed by Eric Michael Gillett, this comeback tour de force incorporates music from a wide range of genres and eras, original comedy, and a few songs with music and lyrics by Montgomery-Forant herself. NYC: BIRD AMONGST THE BLOSSOM - A TRIBUTE TO THE FIRST BLOSSOM DEARIE SONGBOOK

PlaidBird Productions will present Jaye Maynard in "Bird Amongst the Blossom - A Tribute to the First Blossom Dearie Songbook" at DON'T TELL MAMA(343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Friday, October 17th at 9:30 pm. She is joined by Jon Delfin (musical direction/piano), Leon Lee Dorsey (upright bass) and Vin Scialla (drums). Maynard interprets "The First Blossom Dearie Songbook", containing songs written for and by Dearie in collaboration with Johnny Mercer, Bob Dorough, Dave Frishberg and Mahriah Blackwolf, arrangements by Mike Renzi. Maynard is now representing the posthumously published "Blossom Dearie Songbook" for Hal Leonard Music. The show had its theatrical debut at NYC's United Solo Theater Festival on Theatre Row, has played The Cornelia Street Cafe in Greenwich Village and The Laurie Beechman Theater and Metropolitan Room in NYC following its Los Angeles premiere Upstairs at Vitello's Red Carpet Jazz, as well as Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal Bar in North Hollywood and more recently at The M Bar, Hollywood and Don't Tell Mama - NYC. There is an $18 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: THE JANES AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

The heavenly 3-part harmonies of The Girl Groups will be sung by The Janes when they perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) onFriday, October 17th at 7:00 pm.. With their fabulous 4-piece band, The Janes will roar into jaw-dropping arrangements by the Boswell, Andrews and McGuire Sisters of the 30s, 40s and 50s - exactly as those extraordinary gals sang them. Almost like sisters, Sula Haska, Christine Ranck, and Patti Wyss have been singing together for as long as they can remember. NYC: DISTORTED DIZNEE / BROADWAY / HOLLYWOOD

Dallas DuBois and her merry band of drag stars put a bawdy twist on some of your favorite pop culture icons in a series of cult hit pop culture revues whicj run on alternate Fridays at 10:00 pm at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909). The group presents the Magic Kindom themed DISTORTED DIZNEE, the Great White Way tribute DISTORTED BROADWAY and the new Silver Screen inspired DISTORTED HOLLYWOOD. This trio of Las Vegas-style drag extravaganzas feature drag stars Holly Dae, Bootsie LeFaris, Pixie Aventura, Brenda Dharling, Dallas DuBois and more. For the holidays, they will present DISTORTED KRISTMESS, all of your holiday favorites are run past a dirty funhouse mirror. There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum. NYC: SIERRA BOGGESS RETURNS TO 54 BELOW

Broadway's Sierra Boggess returns to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wednesday through Saturday, October 15th through 18th at 7:00 pm with an additional late show on the 17th at 9:30 pm. Broadway knows her as Ariel in The Little Mermaid, Christine Daae in The Phantom of the Opera and as aspiring opera star Sharon Graham in Master Class. London knows her for her Olivier Award-nominated performance in Love Never Dies and Fantine in Les Miserables. After the success of her solo show Awakening debuted at 54 Below last year, she now returns with a show exploring her life as the middle child, always trying to find balance in the "in between"! It is in that balancing act that we begin to ask the questions and look for growth! Through song, stories and her favorite quotes we will "Find the Balance" together! There is a $55-$75 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum. 

NYC: THE 54 BELOW SHOW - NEW LATE NIGHT SERIES

54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) presents its newest late night event, "The 54 Below Show." The new series launches on Friday, October 17th at 11:30 pm with inaugural host, Tony Award winner Marc Shaiman (Hairspray, Catch Me if You Can). Before "The Tonight Show," before "Saturday Night Live," before "Your Show of Shows" and "The Ed Sullivan Show," variety shows played live in venues across America. Matching the humor, quick pace, and familiar faces of a televised variety show with the intimate, underground feel of a supper club, "The 54 Below Show" brings the live variety show back to its roots with an only-in-New York experience not to be missed. Serving as the inaugural host of "The 54 Below Show," the one and only Marc Shaiman will kick off the evening and introduce each guest ... and with Marc at the piano, you never know who's going to stop by. Cover starts at a $20 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

NYC: MOLLY RINGWALD MAKES CAFE CARLYLE DEBUT

Singer/actress Molly Ringwald will make her Cafe Carlyle debut in 'An Evening with Molly Ringwald' at THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-744-1600) on Tuesday through Saturday, October 7th through 18th at 8:45 pm with an additional show on Saturdays at 10:45 pm. Ringwald, who got her start in the iconic John Hughes films The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles and Pretty In Pink, has since become an accomplished stage actress, writer and jazz singer. She has starred in Broadway productions of the Pulitzer Prize-winning How I Learned to Drive; the revival of Cabaret; Tony-nominated Enchanted April and the West End production of When Harry Met Sally. She will perform songs from the Great American Songbook and Ringwald's acclaimed album, Except Sometimes and will be joined by her musical director and pianist Peter Smith (all dates except October 9 where he will be substituted by Laurence Hobgood) and Trevor Ware on bass. There is a $50-115 cover.
