CHICAGO: SCOTT GRYDER'S SIMPLY SCOTTY AT DAVENPORT'S

Scott Gryder's monthly SIMPLY SCOTTY! show will be held this month atDAVENPORT'S (1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830) on Sunday, June 1st from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. Scott will once again entertain from his self-compiled songbook of zany, heartfelt music! He is accompanied by the incomparable Nick Sula on piano, and joined at the mic by guest singers Freddie The Puppet, Laven Deer and the legendary operatic pachyderm Placebo Dominguez. Guest singers welcome. No cover charge - just a 2-drink minimum.

PALM SPRINGS, CA: WARREN DELANGE COMES TO PALM DESERT

Warren Delange brings his show "Swingin' The Dream", a tribute to Eddie DeLange, to THE ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATRE at the JOSLYN CENTER(73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert, CA - TKTS: 760-325-2731) on Sunday, June 1st at 2:00 pm as part of Les Michaels' Sundays In Summer Series. You may not know Warren Delange, and maybe not even his famous fathers name, but you're sure to know his many hit songs from an era when lyrics meant something. Eddie DeLange wrote the lyrics for such songs as Solitude, Moonglow, Darn That Dream, String Of Pearls, Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans and countless others. The shows title "Swingin' The Dream" refers to an actual Broadway musical written by Eddie DeLange which, at the time of it's production, was the most lavish and expensive one produced to that date. Warren will be joined by Joel Baker on piano. There are even a few film clips and photos from the big band and swing days when his father worked with all the greats of the time. $11 tickets will be sold at the box office day of show.

LOS ANGELES: JOAN RYAN AT CATALINA JAZZ CLUB

Actress and singer Joan Ryan will appear at CATALINA JAZZ CLUB (6725 West Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, CA - 323-466-2210) on Sunday, June 1st at 7:30 pm. Joan wowed audiences in the West Coast productions of Ruthless! (original Los Angeles cast), Les Miserables, Footloose, Triumph of Love and Little Shop of Horrors. This special evening, which benefits The Trevor Project, the leading national organization of crisis intervention services to LGBT youth, will also feature a special performance by Eric McCormack (Will & Grace, Perception). The show is directed by Andrew MacBean with Musical Direction by Todd Schroeder. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

LOS ANGELES: KRITZERLAND: NOBODY DOES IT LIKE ME - THE SONGS OF DOROTHY FIELDS

Kritzerland Upstairs at Sterling's presents "Nobody Does It Like Me - The Songs Of Dorothy Fields" on Sunday, May 1st at 7:00 pm atSTERLING'S AT THE FEDERAL (5303 Lankershim Boulevard, North Hollywood, CA - 818-754-8700), As always, the cast includes some of the best voices in town, including Tara Browne, Cynthia Ferrer, Zachary Ford, Kim Huber, Jenna Lea Rosen, Sami Staitman, Sarah Staitman and Robert Yacko with musical director Lloyd Cooper. Special Guest: Kerry O'Malley. For their 46th Kritzerland show they will showcase one of the most influential female lyricists of all time, the great Dorothy Fields. In a time when Tin Pan Alley was almost exclusively a male-dominated club, Dorothy Fields rose to the top, first writing hit after hit with Jimmy McHugh, and later becoming one of the first female lyricists on Broadway and in film, working with such composers as Jerome Kern, Sigmund Romberg, Albert Hague, Arthur Schwartz and finally Cy Coleman, and working on such classic films and shows as the Astaire/Rogers Swing Time, Roberta, Up in Central Park, By the Beautiful Sea, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Redhead, Sweet Charity and Seesaw. You'll hear the well known and the unknown, all delivered by a wonderful cast of performers. You will hear some of the cleverest and most beautiful lyrics ever written, by a master of the craft who forged the way for so many other talented female lyricists. There was no one like Dorothy Fields. Cover charge $15 plus $10 food minimum plus a $4 facility charge.

SAN FRANCISCO: MICHAEL FEINSTEIN AT FEINSTEINS TO CELEBRATE 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

To celebrate its one-year anniversary,FEINSTEIN'S AT THE NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 866-663-1063) will present return of multi-platinum-selling entertainer Michael Feinstein for four performances only, Thursday & Friday, June 29th & 30th at 8:00 pm and Saturday & Sunday, May 30th & June 1st at 7:00 pm. He will be joined by special guest Paula West, who recently completed a sold-out residency at Feinstein's at the Nikko. Feinstein will perform a range of classics from the Great American songbook. Michael Feinstein is considered one of the premier interpreters of American standards. His 200-plus shows a year have included performances at Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House and the Hollywood Bowl as well as the White House and Buckingham Palace. Paula West was initially exposed to classical music as a youngster. It wasn't until college that West began listening to jazz singers such as Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughn. After college, West moved to San Francisco where she met a pianist who would join her in the climb to her own musical identity and her musical success. His name was Ken Muir, and he continues as her accompanist today. There is a $65-$95 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

SAN FRANCISCO: OZ NOY TRIO AT YOSHI'S

Bass/Guitar Player presents the OZ NOY TRIO featuring Oteil Burbridge and Keith Carlock at YOSHI'S (1330 Fillmore Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-655-5600) on Sunday, June 1st with performances at 7:00 & 9:00 pm. Jazz/ Rock/ Blues guitar virtuoso Oz is touring in support of new album, Twisted Blues Volume 2 which was released on May 20th. Noy's latest album continues to mine the blues-tinted vain first tapped in the widely acclaimed first volume, which was released in 2011. While some of the same players from volume one are back on board, these entirely new sessions also introduce an array of special guests, some off-kilter yet undeniably funky rhythmic concepts, and the sort of fiercely unguarded, daring improvisational maneuvers that Noy's growing following have come to expect. There is a $16-$22 cover.
