LOS ANGELES: J MICHAEL O'NEAL & ARETHA SCRUGGS AT THE GARDENIA

J. Michael O'Neal and Aretha Scruggs will perform at THE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444) on Friday & Saturday, June 6th & 7th at 9:00 pm. Ms. Scruggs' intelligently assertive vocals combine with Mr. O'Neal's scrumptiously inventive piano underpinnings to create spontaneous frissons of appreciation not only within the musical sophisticates in the audience, but also within the less schooled as well. He has played for Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr. as well as for Melissa Manchester, Chaka Khan, Ruben Studdard, Peabo Bryson, and Cece Winans. Aretha Scruggs has performed background vocals on tour with Christina Aguilera, Natalie Cole, and Anita Baker; studio session vocals with Michael Bolton, Anita Baker, and BeBe Winans; and TV background vocals with Whitney Houston, CeeLo Green, Christina Aguilera, Patti LaBelle, Jamie Foxx, Chaka Khan, Sheena Easton, and a host of other luminaries. SAN FRANCISCO: A SALUTE TO ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER STARRING GLORY CRAMPTON AND FRANC D'AMBROSIO

Broadway veterans Glory Crampton and Franc D'Ambrosio will appear atFEINSTEIN'S AT THE NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 866-663-1063) on Friday, June 6th at 8:00 pm and Saturday, June 7th at 7:00 pm with their acclaimed show, Angel of Music - A Salute to Andrew Lloyd Webber. Featuring songs from some of Andrew Lloyd Webber's most acclaimed shows, including Sunset Boulevard, Evita, The Phantom of the Opera and Jesus Christ Superstar, Crampton and D'Ambrosio present an unforgettable evening of music and storytelling. Glory Crampton is a Broadway leading lady and musical theatre veteran who is best known for her critically acclaimed roles in productions of Phantom, My Fair Lady, Nine, Camelot, Carousel, and The Fantasticks. She is also an accomplished soprano solo artist who has sung with celebrated tenor Jose Carreras of the legendary The Three Tenors, in a sold out concert at Radio City Music Hall. Franc D'Ambrosio is best known as the "Phantom" in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tony Award winning Musical, The Phantom Of The Opera. Affectionately known as "The Iron Man of The Mask", he was awarded the distinction as the "World's Longest Running Phantom" with over 2,300 performances of the lead role, a title he held for a decade. There is a $35-$50 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

SAN FRANCISCO: THE VICTOR WOOTEN BAND AT YOSHI'S

Five-time Grammy-winning musician Victor Wooten will perform with his band atYOSHI'S (1330 Fillmore Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-655-5600) on Friday, June 6th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Regaled as the most influential bassist since Jaco Pastorius, Wooten is known for his solo recordings and tours, and as a member of the Grammy-winning supergroup, Bela Fleck & The Flecktones. An innovator on the bass guitar, as well as a talented composer, arranger, producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Victor has recently toured with Stanley Clarke and on a co-bill with guitar master Jimmy Herring. Continuing the tradition of virtuosity forged by James Brown, Funkadelic and Prince. Victor has won most every major award given to a bass guitarist. He was voted Bassist of the year by Bass Player Magazine three times and is the only person to have won the award more than once. There is a $34-$59 cover.
