NYC: THE KENNETH & RAISSA WITH A "FAUX SHOW"

Kenneth Gartman and Raissa Katona Bennett will present The Kenneth & Raissa "Faux Show" at THE WEST BANK CAFE/ LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Tuesday, May 13th at 7:00 pm! NYC: JOANNE TATHAM REPRISES "SOUNDTRACK NEW YORK"

The L.A.-based jazz vocalist Joanne Tatham reprises her acclaimed Cafe Carlyle show "Soundtrack New York" atTHE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Tuesday May 13th at 7:00 pm; Saturday May 17th at 4:00 pm; Sunday May 18th at 9:30 pm and Sunday June 1st at 7:00 pm. The show is a fast-paced guided tour of songs from films shot on the streets of Manhattan. "Soundtrack New York" features a veritable skyline of songs from such films as "West Side Story," "Tootsie," "Rosemary's Baby," "Breakfast at Tiffany's" "Funny Girl," "Midnight Cowboy," and "New York, New York." Musical directors are Tedd Firth (May 13th & June 1st; Mike Renzi (May 17th); and Billy Stritch (May 18th). NYC: JAZZ LEGEND ANNIE ROSS TUESDAYS THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Jazz legend Annie Ross continues her unprecedented, record-breaking, multi-year run at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440), every Tuesday night at 9:30 pm. Ms. Ross has been an abundant contributor to the art of jazz for over 50 years. Born in the UK, she has been a permanent resident of the USA for many years and a US citizen since 2001. Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of "Twisted", one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as "Farmers Market", "Jackie" and many others. A founding member of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, considered the greatest jazz vocal ensemble of all time, her influence is present in all subsequent practitioners of vocalese. "Twisted" has been recorded by a host of vocalists, including some not normally associated with jazz, including Joni Mitchell and Bette Midler. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: "THAT'S IT. I QUIT." WITH JOHN WILKENING

John Wilkening sings songs and tells stories about guilty pleasures, bad jobs, and getting malaria in Africa , before he packs up and leaves New York ... for now at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 ) on Monday, May 12th at 7:00 pm . NYC: BILL SOLLY WITH SIMON MULLIGAN AT DON'T TELL MAMA

Bill Solly, a writer of songs and musicals that hardly anyone's ever heard of, will perform at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) Tuesday, May 13th at 7:00 pm. Billy has nevertheless had an interesting life, full of songs and stories about his adventures in Canada, London, New York and Los Angeles, and he can't wait to tell about them. He will be joined by the distinguished pianist Simon Mulligan. In Canada he contributed to My Fur Lady, Jubilee, Spring Thaw, Clap Hands, and many CBC radio and TV shows, but his focus was always musicals. Let the Piper Come, one of his first, was based on L.M. Montgomery's Rainbow Valley; then there was a big musical about the St. Lawrence Seaway called Strawberry that almost - but didn't happen. In England for fifteen years, Solly wrote for Maurice Chevalier, Petula Clark, Dusty Springfield, Annie Ross, Danny La Rue, Marty Feldman, Matt Monro, Brigitte Bardot, Max Bygraves and George Burns, collaborated with Charles Aznavour, Serge Gainsbourg and Denis King, and had five (now six) productions in the West End: Sweet William, Ad Lib, Queen Passionella and the Sleeping Beauty, Danny La Rue at the Palace and The Great American Backstage Musical. The latter (book with Donald Ward) originated in Los Angeles. Also with Ward Solly has had six other musicals in New York including the 1975 Off Broadway hit Boy Meets Boy, recently premiered in London with great success. NYC: INTERLUDES WITH CLAIRE CHRISTINE SARGENTI

Claire Christine Sargenti will present her show 'Interludes' at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Tuesday, May 13th at 9:30 pm. Set in New Orleans, this series of intertwining monologues explores the meaning of living and dying as told by the vibrant characters who call this spirited city their home. In a city that is famous for its music, the spoken interludes, reflections, and reactions that occur in between the songs often go unnoticed, but in this case make up the entirety of the show, transcending location and reflecting the passions found at the root of the human spirit. Written and performed by Claire Christine Sargenti. Claire uses her strong foundation in classical ballet to fuel her passions in all areas of life. As a teenager, she moved to New York from her home in California to train at the Joffrey Ballet School. She then founded her own contemporary ballet company New Bridges Ballet that brought new concepts to the classical art form and bridged the gap between the arts. With New Bridges Ballet, she held the title of Artistic Director, Choreographer, and Dancer as the Classically Trained Rebel, The Metal Ballerina. Claire also works as a SAG-AFTRA actor, and a freelance model, painter, and performance artist. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: SETH BISEN-HERSH'S 300TH SHOWCASE EXTRAVAGANZA

As of this May, Seth Bisen-Hersh will have produced, emceed and accompanied 300 showcases. To celebrate he is putting on the 300th Showcase Extravaganza at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) consisting of six concerts of his work with 84 showcase alumni. Show are scheduled for Tuesdays, May 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th; Friday, May 9th; and Thursday, May 22nd, all shows at 7:00 pm. Each evening will contain 20 songs from his musicals and cabarets over the years. There is a $12 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: ANNE PHILLIPS SINGS ANNE PHILLIPS

Anne Phillips Sings Anne Phillips at STAGE 72 (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590 ) on Tuesday, May 13th at 7:00 pm. Anne Phillips has covered almost every area of the music business. From singing songwriter demos for writers like Carole King and Burt Bacharach, to her classic solo album "Born To Be Blue", to singing back-up on hundreds of recordings, including her cameo in the Academy-Award winning docu-film "20 Feet From Stardom", to composing, arranging and producing commercials (Pepsi, the Sheraton telephone number, etc.) She may be best known however for "Bending Towards the Light • A Jazz Nativity" which has been performed in New York and other cities for so many years, and features almost all the greats of jazz. Anne will be backed by jazz pianist Janice Friedman and bassist Noriko Ueda. Call for cover/minimum information.

NYC: PETER, PAUL & MARY: THE SONG IS LOVE

The timeless music of Peter Yarrow, Paul Stookey and Mary Travers will be re-lived in this one-night-only concert event at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551 ) on Tuesday, May 13th at 9:30 pm. Peter, Paul & Mary's years together were spent communicating personal, political and social imperatives by way of their impeccably chosen songs, personally crafted harmonies, humor and passion. Broadway singer-actors and recording artists Michael Lanning (The Civil War, Bonnie & Clyde), Alison Lory (The Scarlet Pimpernel, Carnegie Hall), and Sam Sherwood (Bernstein: A Celebration, Carnegie Hall) will present the songs and sounds of this iconic trio. There is a $25-$35 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum..

NYC: MARILYN MAYE REMEMBERS THE CARSON YEARS

The multi-talented Marilyn Maye appeared on Johnny Carson's The Tonight Show a record 76 times, more than any singer. Her newest show at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) presented on Tuesday & Wednesday, May 6th & 7th at 7:00 pm and Friday & Saturday, May 9th and 10th at 8:00 pm - plus an encore performance on Tuesday, May 13th at 7:00 pm will be both a musical salute and a compilation of many of the songs Marilyn performed on The Tonight Show. There is a $40-$65 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: PETER CINCOTTI AT THE CUTTING ROOM

Peter Cincotti, singer-songwriter-pianist and native New Yorker, will perform atCUTTING ROOM (44 East 32nd Street, NYC - 212-691-1900) on Tuesday, May 13th at 8:00 pm. Peter began playing piano at the age of three. While in high school, he regularly performed in clubs throughout Manhattan. In 2003, Peter's debut album, produced by the legendary Phil Ramone, reached #1 on the Billboard jazz charts, making Cincotti the youngest artist ever to do so. This led to acclaimed performances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Radio City Music Hall, Paris' Le' Olympia, The Montreux Festival (where he won an award in their renown piano competition), London's Queen Elizabeth Hall, and many other prestigious venues around the world. Peter made his acting debut in the Kevin Spacey film Beyond The Sea, and also contributed to the film's soundtrack. He then made a cameo appearance in the blockbuster film Spider-Man 2, and soon after became the face of Ermenegildo Zegna, promoting their 2004/2005 fashion campaign. His original song "December Boys" was featured in the Australian film of the same title, starring Daniel Radcliffe.In February of 2013, Peter appeared in Italy's legendary San Remo Festival with Italian singer Simona Molinari performing their hit single "La Felicita" to 13 millions broadcast viewers. Later that year, Cincotti was named the first male ambassador for Italian luxury designer Tod's and collaborated with the brand on the music video for his recent single "Madeline", a project exclusively featured in Italy's issue of Vanity Fair magazine. Peter is currently a Dramatist Guild Fellow and writing a new musical with his sister Pia, as well as recording his next studio album scheduled for release later this year. NYC: TAMMY FAYE STARLITE AS MARIANNE FAITHFULL IN: BROKEN ENGLISH

Tammy Faye Starlite, critically acclaimed for her performance piece Nico: Chelsea Medchen, now celebrates the music of another 1960's icon with Marianne Faithfull's Broken English in its entirety at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Tuesday, May 13th at 7:30 pm. Backed by Kevin Salem and the Redlands Quintet, Tammy Faye tackles the groundbreaking album that shattered Faithfull's image as Mick Jagger's pop waif girlfriend, re-emerging as an uncompromising artist, strong, fierce, honest and self aware to the most painfully human degree. Tammy Faye's performance of Broken English captures Faithfull remarkable transformation, inhabiting her character and giving voice to such songs as the recriminatory "Guilt," "The Ballad of Lucy Jordan," and the title track, an empathetic ode to a deeply unhappy suburban housewife. John Lennon's "Working Class Hero" is another album highlight as is the most jaw dropping screed of a woman scored ever on record: Heathcote Williman's no-holds-barred paen to carnal rage: "Why'd Ya Do It." NYC: STEVE TYRELL AT THE CAFE CARLYLE

NYC cabaret favorite Steve Tyrell will perform at THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-744-1600) on Tuesdays through Saturdays, May 6th through 17th at 8:45 pm, with an added late show on Saturdays at 10:45 pm. (No show on Friday, May 9th). The Grammy Award-winning vocalist is truly a renaissance man. In his almost 5 decades in the music business, he has achieved great success as an artist, producer, songwriter, music supervisor, and performer. His hits "The Way You Look Tonight," "The Simple Life," "Crush On You" and "The Sunny Side of The Street," have launched thousands of weddings and millions of romances. He's held top positions at Standards, Swing, and Big Band outlets with a devoted following at key Adult Contemporary Radio. He has appeared with The Boston Pops, twice with The New York Pops, The Nashville Symphony, and The Houston Symphony on several occasions. In 2005, after the passing of the legendary Bobby Short, Steve was asked by New York City's Cafe Carlyle to take over their revered Holiday Season of November and December, which Mr. Short had not missed in 36 years. Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks are back - and now will play every Monday & Tuesday night from 8:00 to 11:00 pm at at IGUANA'S VIP LOUNGE (240 West 54th Street, NYC - 212-765-5454). Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks is an eleven-piece band playing music of the 1920s & 30s for your dining and dancing pleasure. In 1976 Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks (originally known as the New Orleans Nighthawks) was formed. A big-band historian and collector, Giordano has more than 60,000 scores in his collection. There is a $15 cover (at the door) plus a $15 food drink minimum.
