BOSTON: EGUIE CASTRILLO AND HIS ORCHESTRA AT THE REGATTABAR

Grammy Award Winner and percussionist Eguie Castrillo comes with his Salsa orchestra "Mar Del Norte" toTHE REGATTABAR at the Charles Hotel (1 Bennett Street, Cambridge, MA - 617-395-7757) on Saturday, March 1st at 7:30 pm to pay tribute to the Salsa of the 70's and 80's. Come and dance the whole night with this amazing band! Eguie has played with some of the best names in the music world like Tito Puente, Steve Winwood, Celia Cruz, Jennifer Lopez, Arturo Sandoval, Blood Sweat & Tears, Donna Summers just to name a few. BOSTON: THE MARCUS ROBERTS TRIO AT SCULLERS

The Marcus Roberts Trio with Jason Marsalis on drums performs at SCULLERS JAZZ CLUB (400 Soldiers Field Road, Allston, MA - 617-562-4111) on Saturday & Sunday, March 1st & 2nd with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Roberts' critically-acclaimed legacy of recorded music reflects his tremendous versatility as an artist and includes solo piano, duets and trio arrangements of jazz standards as well as original suites of music, large ensemble works, and symphony orchestra recordings. Dinner/Show: $75 Show only: $35.

TORONTO: YOUNG ARTIST SERIES: LIAM STANLEY

Liam Stanley, a young jazz guitarist from Toronto, Ontario, will perform at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Friday & Saturday, February 28th & March 1st from 6:00 to 8:00 pm as part of the club's Young Artist Series. Liam has been playing guitar for nearly a decade, having studied jazz with Humber alumni Tristan Clark, and York professors Roy Patterson and Lorne Lofsky. Liam is currently in his fifth year at York University. While at York Liam has had the privilege of studying with Kevin Turcotte, Kelly Jefferson and Barry Elmes. Following his third year at York Liam was nominated for the Mary Alice Stuart/JAZZ .FM91 Scholarship. Liam has been heard numerous times on JazzFM 91.1's Jazzology and will be featured in 2014. In October of 2011 Liam performed Tim Brady's Twenty Quarter Inch Jacks during the X Avant Festival in Toronto in a 20 guitar ensemble alongside Ted Quinlan and Roy Patterson. In the summer of 2012 Liam performed with his trio at the Brantford Jazz Festival, and followed it up in 2013 with a performance at the TD Toronto Jazz Festival with the Jon Foster Group. There is no cover charge.

TORONTO: ADREAN FARRUGIA QUINTET FEATURING PHIL DWYER AND BRAD GOODE

The Adrean Farrugia Quintet featuring Phil Dwyer & Brad Goode perform at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Thursday through Saturday, February 27th through March 1st at 9:00 pm. It's been 10 years since this band released it's debut album 'Adrean Farrugia v1.0: Live at the Senator' so it seems fitting that their reunion take place at Toronto's 'reincarnation' of the famed Top O' the Senator club: the new Jazz Bistro. The band comprises some of the current jazz scene's most influential players. Chicago native trumpeter Brad Goode is an alumnus of legendary bands led by Von Freeman, Jack Dejohnette and Curtis Fuller. Recent Order of Canada recipient Phil Dwyer's saxophone playing has garnered him a reputation as one of Canada's 'jazz royalty'. Barry Romberg, founder of Romhog Records and leader of the Juno nominated Random Access brings his explosive drumming to this three night engagement and Jim Vivian, a long time first call bassist in Canada and fixture in groups led by Mike Murley and Don Thompson rounds out the group. These three nights will feature compositions both old and new by Juno award winning pianist Adrean Farrugia. This engagement will be recorded for a future album release. There is a $15 cover.

D.C.: TUCK & PATTI AT BLUES ALLEY

Tuck Andress & Patti Cathcart perform at BLUES ALLEY(1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Thursday through Sunday, February 27th through March 2nd with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. With nothing more than voice and guitar, Tuck & Patti have quietly changed the world. Tim Green will perform atBOHEMIAN CAVERNS(2001 Eleventh Street N.W., Washington, DC - 202-299-0800) on Friday & Saturday, February 28th & March 1st with shows at 8:30 & 10:30 pm. Green, native of Baltimore, Maryland is a well-known saxophonist, composer and arranger. Tim was inspired by a family of musicians to get involved with music at the young age of 10. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music in 2004, where he studied with world-renowned instructors such as Dick Oatts, Gary Dail, Bob Mintzer and Steve Slagle. In May 2007, Tim graduated from the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz at the University of Southern California with a masters degree in Jazz Studies. There is a $25 cover.

MARYLAND: MOJO & THE BAYOU GYPSIES AT BETHESDA BLUES

Mojo & The Bayou Gypsies will perform at BETHESDA BLUES & JAZZ SUPPER CLUB (7719 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD - 240-330-4500) on Saturday, March 1st at 8:00 pm. Thrilling audiences Worldwide since 1985, MOJO & The Bayou Gypsies have made millions of people happy! Mojo has performed on PBS, ABC, CBS, NBC, Superstation WGN, FOX, and CMT TV Networks, and 15 albums of original Music certified by the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame, is the historian who got the Zydeco Rubboard into the Smithsonian, is executive producer of documentaries, and is an International Music Ambassador for Louisiana.
