NYC: ELIZABETH HAYDEN: SWINGIN' THE BLUES AWAY

After a 20-year absence from the cabaret stage, Elizabeth Hayden returns to share her love of all things musical with her show "Swingin' the Blues Away" at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, February 23rd at 7:00 pm. Her last cabaret act was at the Cinegrill, in Los Angeles' Roosevelt Hotel in 1994. A native New Yorker, Liz has lived in Los Angeles for the past 20 years where she's worked as a casting director, producer, actress, set designer, raised three daughters, and five years ago graduated magna cum laude from college with a degree in interior design/architecture. Prior to that, Liz lived in Manhattan, where in the 80's she & her husband Jeff Passero ran the Music Room Cabaret at the Horn of Plenty Restaurant in Greenwich Village. She performed her cabaret act there on numerous occasions, while she worked throughout the tri-state area as a vocalist for Stephen Scott Orchestras and the Larry King Orchestra. With Larry King, she was the New Year's Eve headliner for several years at both the Regency & Drake Hotels. She has been the featured entertainment at fundraisers for the American Cancer Society and Seattle Repertory Theatre, as well as at private functions everywhere from New York to Florida to Los Angeles! As an actress, her greatest love has always been musical theatre, starring in shows from New Hampshire to New York to Florida to Los Angeles! In 2012, Liz was an invited fellow at the Eugene O'Neill Cabaret Conference, where she worked with Barry Kleinbort, Penny Fuller, incredible musical directors and musicians (some of whom are with her tonight,) and she had the chance to share the stage with legends such as Marilyn Maye, Amanda McBroom, and Loni Ackerman! There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: "OSCAR-WINNING SONGS" WITH DENNIS SPRICK

Vocalist Dennis Sprick and pianist Jimmy Horan, both members of the NYC Gay Men's Chorus, will present their show "Oscar-Winning Songs" at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Sunday, February 23rd at 4:30 pm. From "Lullaby of Broadway" to "Skyfall," enjoy a merry and melodic survey of Academy Award-winning songs. Special guest is Miss Claudia J. Pierre. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: MEN I'VE HAD (I'M NOT SORRY) TATUM KENNEY

Tatum Kenney presents a stream of consciousness narrative interspersed with music in her show 'Men I've Had (I'm Not Sorry)' atTHE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Sunday, February 23rd at 7:00 pm. Tatum Kenney sings and Facebooks about dating, dying alone and salting her Ben and Jerry's ice cream with her own tears. (But really don't hold her to this because she does whatever and whoever she feels like.) There is a $5 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: SONDHEIM UNPLUGGED RETURNS

A celebrated New York event since 2010, the Bistro Award-winning series Sondheim Unplugged returns to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Sunday, February 23rd at 7:00 pm. The show features some of Broadway and cabaret's most dynamic voices, accompanied by piano only. Expect tunes from A Little Night Music, Company, Into the Woods, Follies, Passion, Dick Tracy and more. Past special guests have included original Sondheim cast members such as Len Cariou, Victoria Mallory, Donna McKechnie & Chip Zien - so you never know who might drop in. Sondheim Unplugged is hosted by series creator Phil Geoffrey Bond, who will fill the audience in on Sondheimien facts, history & assorted tidbits of theatrical lore! Come join the party! Special Guests: Teri Ralston (Company's original Jenny, A Little Night Music's original Mrs. Nordstrom), and Sarah Rice (Sweeney Todd's original Johanna).•Featuring: Jim Brochu, Harris Doran, Trent Armand Kendall, Jeannie Lehman, Julie Reiber, Brian Charles Rooney, Lisa Sabin, Lucia Spina, Gabrielle Stravelli and Jessica Vosk. NYC: NEW SUNDAYS MONTHLY AT 54 BELOW

New Sundays returns to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Sunday, February 23rd at 9:30 pm. With New Sundays, 54 Below salutes some of the most exciting artists writing for the musical theatre today. This month, 54 Below is delighted to welcome special guest Charles Strouse (Applause, Annie, Bye, Bye Birdie) to their celebrated songwriter's series! Charles will be presenting some of his most cherished work from behind the piano, as will two other brilliant composers - Amanda Green (High Fidelity, Hands on a Hardbody), and Steve Marzullo (Somedays, Show Some Beauty). Look for performances from Annie Golden, Van Hughes, Terri Klausner, Kenita Miller, Ric Ryder & Sally Wilfert. There is a $25-$35 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: ERIN MARKEY: THERE'S A NEW EMERGENCY CONTACT IN TOWN

Erin Markey returns to JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Sunday, February 23rd at 9:00 pm with more original music and more original feelings. Erin creates an at once riotous and unexpectedly moving performance about figuring out who you might be. Collaborating with Tony-nominated Kenny Mellman (Julie Ruin, Kiki and Herb, Our Hit Parade) on original songs like "Hurricane Sandy" and Psoriasis Ellen" and prismatic covers of Usher, Jewel and Hall & Oates, Erin Markey guides the audience through the frailties of midwestern family life and salvation by Bible Belt Christians, leotards, and the terror of Dads. Erin is currently an artist in residence at BAX, developing a surrealist musical comedy called "A Ride on The Irish Cream." As an actress, Markey is a company member of Obie Award winning Half Straddle, has performed with Young Jean Lee's Theater Company, and starred in Tennessee Williams' Green Eyes, receiving Boston's Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Performance. There is a $15 cover.

NYC: ERIC YVES GARCIA AT BEMELMAN'S BAR

Eric Yves Garcia has been invited back again to perform at BEMELMAN'S BAR at the CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-570-7189) on Sundays, February 16th & 23rd at 9:00 pm. You're invited to enjoy music, stories and laughs well into the evening as Mr. Garcia burns up the keys, with Ritt Henn on Bass and Tony Romano on Guitar. There is a $15 cover at the bar, $25 at tables.
