FLORIDA: MARILYN MAYE AT THE ROYAL ROOM
The legendary Marilyn Maye is returning to THE ROYAL ROOM at THE COLONY HOTEL (155 Hammond Avenue, Palm Beach, FL - 561-659-8100) for her seventh annual engagement. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday, January 28th through February 1st at 8:30 pm. She is the holder of the singer's record (76 appearances) on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career is a litany of honors, awards, and landmark achievements. Her hit songs include "Step to the Rear," "The Lamp is Low," "Sherry" and "If My Friends Could See Me Now." Known as a "Singer's Singer," she has performed at New York's Copa Cobana, The Living Room, Michael's Pub, The Rainbow Grill, St. Regis, The Metropolitan Room, Birdland and appears frequently at 54 Below. $120 for prix fixe dinner & show; $55 for show only.

He is joined by his musical director/ partner George Howe. What is the spark in your eye? Dan shares his newly found spark with music from David Friedman, Leonard Bernstein, Maltby & Shire, Carla Gordon and others. A tribute to motherhood, Jordan travels back in time using show-and-tell to take audiences on the ride of a lifetime, sharing hysterical stories about growing-up as a flamboyant, doll-loving boy in the South. From the day a teenage Leslie sits down with his caring but clueless mother to inform her that he has decided to forego college to become a female impersonator, all the way to a gay Alaskan cruise with 2,000 gay men on which a 53 year-old Leslie witnesses his aging mother's astounding metamorphosis, Jordan's storytelling skills make for an evening of fun and thought-provoking theater. In 1982, Leslie Jordan stepped off a Greyhound bus from the hills of Tennessee, said "hello" to Hollywood and has never looked back. With hundreds of television shows, films and commercials to his credit, he has become a familiar face on the entertainment scene. In 2006, Jordan won an Emmy Award for "Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series" for his delicious portrayal of "Beverley Leslie" on the hit series "Will and Grace."
