LONDON: OPEN MIC NIGHT RETURNS IN LONDON WITH HAROLD SANDITEN
Open Mic with host Harold Sanditen returns on Thursday, September 12th and every Thursday thereafter at London's THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888). This is a unique open mic in the West End, having an acoustic baby grand piano and a bass player. Michael Roulston and Jonty Fisher will be regular musicians - and both are versed at both jazz and more theatrical songs. Aimed at both the jazz and theatrical communities, The Crazy Coqs Open Mic Night welcomes all singers, composers and musicians, up & coming and established, who want to do a turn, performing new material or old favourites. For the audience, come and catch that proverbial 'rising star' (or possibly a famous West End name) in the intimate, "jewel-box" surroundings of The Crazy Coqs. Call for cover/minimum information.
LONDON: AN EVENING WITH LIZ CALLAWAY
"An Evening With Liz Callaway" signals the London return of the major American concert and recording artist to THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) and will feature music by Stephen Sondheim, Stephen Schwartz, Maltby and Shire, Rodgers and Hammerstein, as well as by Jimmy Webb, Tony Hatch and others. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday, January 28th through February 1st at 8:00 pm. Liz Callaway burst onto the Broadway scene over 25 years ago. Since then the Tony nominated and Emmy Award winning actress has gone on to star in numerous shows including Baby, Miss Saigon and Cats. She has also established a critically acclaimed career as a singer and recording artist. From New York to Sydney, Beijing to Paris, she has appeared in many of the world's greatest concert halls with several of the most famous symphony orchestras. She has also created a third career, as the singing voice in many notable animated movies including Beauty and the Beast, Lion King II and most especially as the title voice in the Oscar-nominated Anastasia. Finally, she performed the highly lauded Sibling Revelry in the US and here at the Donmar with her award-winning sister Ann Hampton Callaway, as well as the recently recorded, and now touring show, Boom! LONDON: AN EVENING WITH MULTI-AWARD WINNING JANIE DEE
The Award Winning multi-talented Janie Dee will perform at THE PHEASANTRY (152-154 King's Road, London SW3 4UT - 08456 027 017) on Tuesday, January 28th through Saturday, January 1st at 8:30 pm. She will be performing an evening which will feature her choice of unique songs and stories. Always musical and always surprising., the evening will include songs from the likes Andrew Lloyd Webber and Stephen Sondheim and stories from her favourite playwrights such as Lucy Kirkwood and Alan Ayckbourn.
