Jazz vocalist Erin McDougald will perform her show 'Don't Wait Up For Me' at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Saturday, July 6th at 9:30 pm. Erin is undeniably among Chicago's top echelon of respected jazz musicians. Fans know her as the "Flapper Girl" of this generation; she embraces the music of a bygone Era but crafts the melodies into an innovatively modern realm of jazz interpretation. Her fashion sense embodies the vintage with the unexpected, just as her music conveys lyrics of romance and deeper contemplation enveloped in unusual melodies or time signatures. Miss McDougald has performed and recorded with Grammy-nominated and Grammy-winning artists such as Chembo Corniel and trumpet sensation Nicholas Payton as well as Drummer extraordinaire, Paul Wertico. With three albums out under her lead, she has risen to several of the top ten lists for jazz-picks on radio charts across the United States. Erin's latest album, "Outside the Soiree", was recorded at the renowned Bennett Studios by Grammy winning engineer Dae Bennett (Tony Bennett's son); the title track was written and arranged by McDougald and the album features globally recognized luminaries Dave Liebman, Tom Harrell, Rodney Green, Mark Sherman and Chembo Corniel, along with Rob and Dan Block and Cliff Schmitt. There is a $30 cover plus a 2-drink minimum
