DC: PETER & WILL ANDERSON "CD RELEASE PARTY" AT BLUES ALLEY
Peter & Will Anderson will hold a "CD Release Party" at BLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Tuesday, July 2nd with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. At age 13, they toured the U.K., playing traditional jazz and swing music. Born and raised in the Washington, DC area, they were first mentored by saxophonist Paul Carr, before attending Juilliard. Peter and Will Anderson have played with Wynton Marsalis' Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Jimmy Heath Big Band, Village Vanguard Orchestra, Bob Wilber, Wycliffe Gordon, and Michael Feinstein. They have produced and performed in two highly-acclaimed off-Broadway jazz shows at 59E59 Theaters in 2010 and 2012, honoring Artie Shaw and the Dorsey Brothers, the last of which sold out for 30 consecutive shows. Peter and Will are featured in HBO's Boardwalk Empire and on the Grammy-winning soundtrack with Vince Giordano's Nighthawks, with whom they frequently perform. Call for cover/minimum information.
