TONIGHT IN NYC: JULIA BREANETTA SIMPSON: JULIA AND THE DUKE
Julia Breanetta Simpson brings her show "Julia And The "Duke", a Cabaret Tribute to the musical genius of "Duke" Ellington to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, July 5th at 7:00 pm. The show is written and conceived by Julia Breanetta Simpson and has been performed throughout the Tri-State area in her one-woman shows "Harlem On My Mind" and "How Sweet The Sound". Julia hails from a small town in North Carolina where she began performing during her formative years. Her professional career began when she was cast as Jenny in Syracuse Stages' Production of Death of A Salesman. Julia earned her BFA degree in Musical Theatre at Syracuse University. Julia has performed in Regional, Dinner and Stock Theatres in such productions asAin't Misbehavin', Dreamgirls, For Colored Girls, One Mo' Time, Purlie, Tintypes,When The Nightingale Sings and Death Of A Salesman. She has appeared in various Off-Broadway theatres and Cabaret venues in New York City, most recently The Laurie Beechman Theatre and The Triad. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
