CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: MONDAY NIGHTS WITH WBGO: JON COWHERD AND MERCY PROJECT
On Monday, November 11th,DIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595) and WBGO present the release of Jon Cowherd's highly anticipated 'Mercy', a definitive milestone in Cowherd's already impressive career, with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. Other milestones include performances with Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Chaka Khan, Cassandra Wilson, and longtime collaborator and friend Brian Blade. Our release party will be a special commemoration, including a pre-show interview with Rhonda Hamilton and exclusive WBGO coverage of Cowherd's live and recorded performances. Though this release marks Cowherd's first album produced under his name, the immensely talented pianist, arranger, composer, and producer is already firmly rooted as one of the most accomplished, sought-after musicians around. Come celebrate new music by an artist sure to leave a mark on jazz history. Live webcast and artist interview with WBGO host Rhonda Hamilton will begin at 7:15 pm EST on jalc.org/live. WBGO is proud to partner once again with Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola on Monday Nights with WBGO. The series features talented new artists as well as groups from some of the area's great college jazz programs. Each performance is hosted by WBGO announcer Rhonda Hamilton. There is a $25 cover.
