CABARET-JAZZ SHOWS TONIGHT IN NEW YORK CITY
NYC: LOSTON HARRIS CD RELEASE CELEBRATION AT BIRDLAND
Loston Harris will celebrate the release of his newest CD, 'Swingfully Yours" at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Tuesday, November 12th with shows at 8:30 & 11:00 pm. He is joined by Ian Hendrickson-Smith (sax), Mark Whitfield (guitar), Gianluca Renzi (bass) and Clarence Penn (drums). His piano playing has been described as "percussive" with "incredibly fluid". His vocals noted as "suave." Loston himself will tell you he has worked hard during his career but knows he's been blessed with the opportunities to play the music closest to his heart, jazz. For more than a decade Loston has headlined at a "home" that shares his passion for timeless music. The Legendary Bemelmans Bar located in The Carlyle in Manhattan's storied Upper East Side, has a legacy of hosting great cabaret and jazz greats from the likes of Bobby Short, Eartha Kitt, Elaine Stritch, John Pizzarelli and the Modern Jazz Quartet. There is a $30 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.
NYC: ERIC HARLAND & FRIENDS - BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
Multi-Grammy Nominated Drummer, Eric Harland will perform at THE BLUE NOTE(131 West 3rd Street, NYC - 212-475-8592) on Tuesday, November 12th with shows at 8:00 & 10:30 pm. He will be celebrating his birthday! Joining him are Chris Potter, sax; Taylor Eigsti, piano; Nir Felder, guitar; and Matt Penman, bass. Eric is the most "In demand drummer" of his generation. He has already been on close to 200 recordings at his age of 36! There is a $15-$25 cover.
